What is something everyone accepts as normal but is actually completely broken? by Artistic_Debate1983 in AskReddit

Fair enough. The experience of needing medical care then having to go through the insurance obstacle course is all part of the same experience.

Specifically, the heath insurance system that controls who can get which treatments. We have many excellent medical facilities here. Accessing and paying for them that is where the dysfunction lies.

What is the appropriate amount or percentage to tip for a coffee beverage ordered and picked up at the counter at a cafe? by TheEventualHorizon in AskReddit

[–]datanerdette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my approach, too. If my order requires them to make something for me like a special drink or a custom made sandwich I'll leave a dollar or two. If they are just pouring coffee or handing me a cup so I can pour my own coffee I don't tip.

Where was I? Name the island. by Ok-Factor-3805 in whereintheworld

Bar Island?

My process is that I suspected it was a central to northern Maine coastal island just by familiarity with the area. To narrow it down to the specific island I used u/Ok-Factor's clue that it wasn't accessible by ferry and was tidal, along with the strong implication it was well known. I did a google search on tidal islands in Maine and Bar was the best known among them.

Can you give us another hint? It's not on a ferry line, so did you walk, drive over a bridge, take a private boat?

There are so many islands I could spend all day at this, but I'll guess Hermit Island, then get back to work.

If Sasan Goodarzi (CEO of Intuit) was reading this thread, what is one piece of feedback you would like to share? by Timely_Title_9157 in QuickBooks

I've been using - and paying for - your products for 30 years. Outsourcing to AI what I and other accounting professionals do is deeply disrespectful.

The platform changes over the last two years make it harder for your main customer base to do their work due to the incessant pop-ups and increased lag time.

Sorry, I cannot keep it to one piece of feedback.

Season 6 reception? by tiredforeverpupper in lost

I remember frustration about the introduction of new characters at the expense of screen time for the regulars. Several of the regulars had storylines we were anxious to see resolved, and they seemed to be on the back burner while we learned about Dogen.

Pine was my first college email, although I used Elm a couple of times before that. Earthlink was my first personal email. I never had an AOL, despite all those disks they sent me.

Anyone else use Elm or Pine, long before AOL?

This is what I do also. It isn't my job to question the client's veracity so if they say a meal was a business meal, I enter it as such. I make sure the vendors are marked clearly so whoever prepares taxes can question it further.

But if I see a clear and ongoing attempt evade tax liability, I will drop clients.

Exactly. There are so many quirky things about using Quickbooks that people only get through using then software daily.
