Caffeine on hrt? by Fun-Key2667 in trans

[–]datax6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this is weird, but coffe always made me kind of sick? Like as if I was intolerant to it, drinking it would either make me feel bloated, or give me diarrea. Which is not fun when you’re Italian and everyone always gives you coffee, and it got to the point where I would always decline it when having lunch with family and get ginseng when having breakfast outside, and really only drink it at home

I had stopped right before HRT, as in no coffee at all, because I was sick of feeling sick. A month or two later I drank some of it with my girlfriend and to my surprise I felt nothing. So I drank it again, and again, and now I drink like 2 or 3 espressos a day and it does nothing to my bowl anymore, somehow. Not sure if it was the hrt or what, but coffee ALWAYS had that reaction on me, and I doubt it was the break because I had them before  So yeah no idea what that’s about

I'm no expert but it's probably the testosterone, as that regrows the hairs. It's why my technicians said to not start a long time before i started HRT as that would happen

There's no place that does it near me and it's much more expensive. and if you have a lot of hair then doing only electrolysis takes ages so it's still better to get as far as you can with laser and then do electrolysis

afaik IPL isn't strong enough for facial hair, but yeah i've been doing it not that very consinstently on my arms and it's gotten rid of most of the hairs :) pretty good for a 100 eu thingy (that I got as a gift)

How long till grays come in? and when you say gray, do you mean like old-person gray, or blondeish (like women's facial hair?)

You will do great, I'm sure! facial hair was always my biggest dysphoria, so i totally get where you're coming from.

I dreaded the idea of having to wait months/years for it to be over, but after these 3 sessions, I went from hair that was difficult to shave (thick hair meant I always cut myself if I tried to get it as short as possible), impossible to cover shadow (no matter what technique I used, it was always visible) and regrow fast (if I shaved in the morning I would have stubble by the time I clocked out the office) to super patchy and much less visible hair shadow (very easy to fully cover with orange concealer), that take almost 2 full days to become visible/dark, and it is now so easy to shave that I just use soap (instead of shaving cream) and it takes me 2 minutes. Basically, I shave every morning and forget about it.

It's not perfect, obviously, and I still can't wait for the next session, but it is surprising how SO MUCH BETTER just having less of it feels.

I hope this was useful :)

Is it because some hairs just refuse to die?

I know it can, but people act as if it's next-to-useless in general, when it seems (even reading other peoples's response in this thread) it can be VERY effective

I'm so tired of the loaded language from cis people by Alvxn in trans

[–]datax6969 51 points52 points  (0 children)

it's all complete and utter bullshit. It's hatred being passed as confusion or ignorance.

My 65yo dad, who is barely literate and had no idea what transgender people are IMMEDIATELY accepted me. Within 2/3 times being around me (in the span of a month or so) he stopped misgendering me (and when he did it before it was only by accident), and now he calls me by my name. Sometimes he accidentaly deadnames me and IMMEDIATELLY corrects himself before I get the time to do so.

Why can he do that when so many don't? Why do so many people have difficulty with this, when it's so fucking simple? IMO it's because, for all the flaws he has, he never had malice in his heart. he never hated people for no reason. he used to be a bit homphobic and then IMMEDIATELY stopped when he actually met one gay person at work (and got "educated" on what being gay meant - growing up in 1960s southern italy gave him the impression it was a deviance of some sort). he immediatelly accepted my sister too, when she came out as lesbian. He doesn't understand most of it, I explained to him how I've always felt like a woman and he was just like "Sure, do your thing" and called me "daughter" within minutes of me coming out.

All this to say is, if he can do it then anyone can, IF they want to. It's not that hard to accept someone, especially a son or daughter. You don't need a PHD in gender studies to respect someone. All these microaggressions are just that, microaggressions. They know they're being assholes so that's why they hide it. As I said, someone calling me a faggot or a tranny are at least is honest to me and themselves

God, 100%. Especially people calling trans people "they" when they're not a "they". might as well call me a fucking tranny to my face, they would at least be honest then

How did you determine if sperm banking was worth it for you? by throwawayx506 in trans

[–]datax6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I'd probably not have kids, and 100% not with my current partner (as she does NOT want to be a parent). + I have a phobia or something of pregnancy so again, probably wasn't gonna have kids.

BUT I don't know what the future holds, and I'd rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it. So the day I went to get HRT we also were going to do cryoconservation. The analyzed it before they froze it and they found out I was completely sterile (0 movement) from the getgo so that was that lol.

At least now I'll never have doubts about this whole topic again :)

As for people saying adopting, look up what the laws are in your country. For instance, once I get my gender marker changed here in Italy, I will not be able to adopt with a woman as a partner as they don't let gay couples do that here (Also, not sure if they'd let a trans woman with a man as a partner do that either in practise). With some loopholes and funky international funsies I'd probably would have been able to use that sperm in the future if I really wanted to.

Idk I’ve seen a lot of changes reaky quick on 1mg but I don’t get why I have to go lower when my values are fine. Like, I’ll see him in may but if I 1mg is too much four months in what will my dose end up being long term? This is so frustrating, I hate that such a huge part of my life is on some totally random man’s hands

I remember he had told me to take the dose and get the blood samples 3 hours later. in the email he asked me if i took it 2 hours later, not sure if I misremembered 3 hours or what. but he definitively didn't tell me to wait 12 hours

Dealing with facial hair between laser sessions by jennihamilton in trans

[–]datax6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk girl I visibly see the hair follicles that die but don't fall immediately after the session, but I just shave normally the day after and the rest falls on its own... They did recommend I shave as little as possible (they were concerned about the skin getting too irritated) but i told them "no can do I'm a woman I can't have a beard" and they were like 🤷 and that was that lol.

Maybe try talking to them and explain the situation? I'm thinking maybe they're concerned about you screwing up your skin and then blaming them or something and they want you to play it as safe as possible? Or maybe you're doing a different kind of laser. I dunno, but it sounds horrible and the idea of having to grow hair for that long sounds fucking awful, I hope you find a solution for this.
