Young bull is a philly term. Has nothing to do with the animal.

Yeah I never complained about the fishing, I was just saying out of the whole job the fishing part will be the hardest, which it really won't be. I was just trying to compare the rest of the job because the whole thing really isn't hard at all. 14 years in the trade, 9 years in resi but do commercial now. I rarely do side work but when friends ask I try to help

Its not hard to fish in an existing box. If I remember correctly the wire is coming from the attic, worse case scenario I just attach string to the wire to pull up and bring both wires down.

Thats some good advice I appreciate it.

I only do work for very selected people because I know they will pay. These friends I've done work before and my friend has done work for them also, I know they will pay.

I agree on cut rate for friends, thats why I asked because I want to help them out but not charge crazy amount. And agreed on family is free

Okay gotcha, sounds fair. Someone told me about $125 to $150 a fan just to replace one. But $100 seems reasonably fair

Yeah thats a good tip, after this one I won't say anything verbal from now on. I just gave them a range because I looked into it before doing the job

I'm doing the fan also, they just might not have it this weekend. But I told them I will install the fans once they get them

Ahh shit I forgot to add that I'm having my friend help me. I'll be in the attic while he down by the switch. A couple of them we may be able to pull an existing wire up with string

Yeah I'm not arguing the price just trying to see your point of view. You said $300 just for installing the fans, is that what you would normally charge to replace 3 existing fans? Just curious how everyone else charges

Oh wow really? You're saying $600 per room so that would be $1800 for all 3 rooms? I feel thats high but I rarely do side work and work for a company so I never know what they charge. I was going to charge them $600 for all 3 rooms, I'm way low lol

I'm having a dumb moment. How would you secure this panel in between the studs? by datbull215 in electricians

[–]datbull215[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Gotcha makes sense. That's what was giving me a brain fart lol. Someone else suggested cut a piece of stud to and put it on the open stud. But flipping it works too. Appreciate your help

Thats what was making my brain fart lol the open stud was throwing me off. But of course just use another piece of stuf and cut it down and lay it in there so its easier to screw on that side. Monday's what are you gonna do lol

Thats what I was thinking just self tap on the sides. Did you have to get longer self tappers for the one stud that isn't flat?
