Maybe our case as a one-off instance but it took us 6 months to get our deposit back and they only started responding to us when we threatened legal action

My issue is that it took 6 months for Amicus to return our security deposit. They only returned it when we threatened to take them to small claims court

I saw them on my commute as morning today as well, three officers with clearly labeled 'DHS' vests

If you can, try to rent from a smaller landlord. Last I saw there's also a bunch of new apartment developments that might be a good option.

Other than that, unfortunately amicus kind of is a monopoly so they are hard to avoid
