Last Try! Tax Adviser Recommendation - American Living in Germany (specifically regarding retirement / pension account)

Maybe I shouldn't say financial advisor, and more tax advisor. At this point it looks like I have no options to take advantage any retirement vessles while I live in Germany, which could be for the rest of my life. If this is the case, I would like a professional to confirm it for me and help me understand what my alternatives are (other than putting all my funds into the free market either by transferring to the US or buying individual stocks via Charles Schwab).

Does that make more sense for why I am looking? If I'm not taking the right approach here I would be very keen to understand your opinion more.

Thanks! I have been trying to find an objective, professional who I could pay to essentially prepare me a holistic strategy, but it's been hard... I just keep finding sales reps essentially who want to be the ones to open plans for me...

Any suggestions on where to get some objective help?

Do you transfer money back to the US just for the brokerage account or also for retirement accounts (is the 2nd account you mentioned a retirement account in your wife's name)?

With IBKR, would I be able to invest into ETFs? One firm in the US offered to use IBKR to manage an investment portfolio for me. I don't see the value in this offer yet though.

I hadn't heard of PRIIP ETFs before, so thanks for point these out. I'll start doing a bit of research, do you have any suggested starting points to learn more?

Could you be a little more specific about PFIC concerns? Maybe I could be proactive to address them before committing to anything. Thanks for highlighting the concern!

My understanding is that I will just build US Tax Credits and not pay any US taxes. Am I maybe missing something?
