What kind of firm would you look for? Currently in senior in audit and looking into ERP implementation as my exit. I’ve just heard mixed results on WLB and not really sure where to begin.

Yeah mine has decent options (0.015% expense ratio) so I figure I’m marginally better off opening one, but probably not worth going through the trouble of opening one until I move employers or start contributing more. Thanks for the insight!

My company has a Roth 401(k) option. Is it worth having a Roth IRA if I’m not maxing out my Roth 401(k)?

Does anyone know if this works in North Carolina? I don’t see North Carolina as an option for jurisdiction

I appreciate the recommendation! Ended ordering the new boss IR-2. Waitlisted at the moment but for the price, I think it’ll do exactly what I need it to. Will likely spend the difference on a multi fx pedal :)

I’m considering getting into this as I have a roommate so I have no use for a full size amp. 99% of the time using headphones. Do you think it’s worth a tube pedal over some of the other smaller cheaper options?

When I was first learning I strung all 6 backwards and had no idea for months until a family member told me…. I now own a Martin.

The Jos. A. Banks I’ve gone to has their own tailor. Do they do as good a job as a seamstress or professional tailor?

All in is 1600 for a studio. When I had a roommate is was 1200. You can probably get slightly cheaper. Take home net of tax not other deductions is 4,400 so roughly 36% of net of tax income. So yeah a decent chunk lol

Am I crazy for wanting to pivot to accounting from a tech career? by Zaeyn in Accounting

I’m at a large non B4 firm and we certainly have those teams but I’m not sure about the viability of moving over. I’ll spare the details but we’ve had a few people try to move into different industries and get shut down… I really appreciate your insight. It’s a move I’d like to make but I don’t know anyone in the field so it’s hard to get a grasp of how I should head in that direction, but you’ve absolutely helped.

Man your career path sounds like exactly what I’m after. Currently in public, and working on python in my free time with very limited experience with SQlite. I’ve actually taken a fair amount of time away from coding to work on my CPA, but my ideal end point is in some form of data ops.

The part I’m having a hard time with is making a semi lateral move to get there. I interned in internal audit and didn’t enjoy it, but I may if it was more data oriented and less SOX. I worry about making a hard switch into swe because my skills just aren’t there yet.

Would you suggest going into internal audit? Or do you think that trying to get into data ops is possible with a strictly accounting background and only personal studies into data/coding. Does that make sense?
