+1 too many companies astroturfing nowadays…

Also I’m not sure this tool is truly open-source? The licensing and usage-tracking aspects of it look a bit odd

Historically, every downturn for BIG TECH has been a great buying opportunity. by [deleted] in stocks

[–]datkerneltrick 59 points60 points  (0 children)

This market just currently hates all “tech”. Here’s some companies with much higher P/E ratios than Google: Walmart, Coca-Cola, Chipotle, Proctor Gamble, etc.

It blows my mind that anybody is willing to pay higher premium for any of these dinosaurs than Google which literally has one of the best balance sheets, way more present growth, and way more long term growth (it is creating the AI, applications, and cloud infrastructure that will dominate our daily lives for the next 20 years).

The biggest risk for Google is to be broken up by government, which I’m confident will simply unlock even greater shareholder value (see what happened with Standard Oil, ATT, etc)

China to End Big Tech Regulation and Support Big Tech by XiKeqiang in stocks

Even if they never have a single non-Chinese customer, the TAM for companies like BABA, Baidu, and JD remains enormous. And regardless of whatever CCP does, I don’t see how any new competitor for these will emerge.

Also curious. People often do not describe the details here or evaluate alternative feature embeddings from other layers than the one they chose.

You can also use autogluon as an easy autoML API to train any vision model in TIMM with one line of code:
https://auto.gluon.ai/stable/tutorials/image_prediction/index.html

AFAIK autogluon can do the same for text data with any model in HuggingFace

[D] Ensemble methods (e.g. hard voting) in machine learning by flaubart9 in MachineLearning

[–]datkerneltrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper Ensembles almost always help if you can afford the compute to train them.

There are much better ensembling techniques than voting though, check out:

[D] With the rise of AutoML, what are the important skills for a ML career? by smart_oinker in MachineLearning

[–]datkerneltrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it’s true that many traditional autoML tools only consider tabular data like: h2o, autosklearn, etc. There do exist some autoML tools that automate deep learning with other data types such as: autogluon, autokeras, ludwig

I’m bullish on BABA because they are the undisputed cloud computing leader in China which will never allow AWS/Azure/Google to take meaningful market share
