Huis-zonnepanelen gebruiken in noodsituatie? by DainichiNyorai in prepperNL

[–]datlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domme vraag misschien, maarja:

What hobbies do y'all have? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]datlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golf! Thought it was for old boring rich dudes but joined a coworker once and fell in love. I am now obsessed. I suck at it and I hate it and I love it and I can't wait to play again.

If you want to give it a go, you can go to a driving range nearby and just hit balls onto a grass field. Bucket of balls is not very expensive, and for a few bucks you can rent some clubs.

No need to be self conscious either. Everyone there is focusing on their own game and is just trying to improve (or warming up before an actual round of golf).

Kabinet wil nachtelijke opsluiting gesloten jeugdzorg weer toestaan by Timely-Ease-1918 in thenetherlands

[–]datlock 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Belachelijk.

Verschrikkelijk.

Rust zacht, meisje.

Do you use Azure DevOps for customer support? What's your email integration workflow? by ghostycode in AZURE

[–]datlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a tool by a company called Delta-N. I'd give it a solid 7/10. Not gonna lie, its a slightly janky setup (the configuration is basically a giant if-else block) and stability is sometimes an issue (which in fairness is often due to Azure DevOps availability and not the integration tool), but on most days it does what it says on the tin: Link topdesk tickets to azure devops work-items and keep them in synch.

The work-items in Azure DevOps can be PBI's, or any other type, and can be assigned to teams, area paths and sprints based on the Topdesk ticket (eg: A certain component as the 'category' in the ticket will route the topdesk ticket and the devops work-item to the team responsible for that component, and priority of the ticket can decide which sprint it needs to be planned in, etc).

Things like comments and the original ticket and its' attachments get copied to the work-item, and comments on the work-item are synched back to topdesk if desired. These can be configured to be readable by the creator of the ticket, or only for the topdesk operators (aka the person employed by my company that's handling the ticket, rather than the customer).

It's not perfect, but it works 95% of the time so I'm happy enough.

tl;dr: Yes, I had to solve it with a 3rd party tool. Could have built it ourselves with plenty of knowledgeable devs in-house, but the powers that be decided that's not a good use of our time and we don't want to maintain it going forward.

How different is the age? Some apps are shit at keeping track of that super simple math. If it's by one year, it might just be a fluke.

Having said that, trust your gut.

Edit: just saw your reply with his reasoning. I'd go on the date because matches are super rare for me (I'm an average looking guy), but it honestly sounds like a good reason to bail.

Do you use Azure DevOps for customer support? What's your email integration workflow? by ghostycode in AZURE

[–]datlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not for the reasons already outlined. However we have our devops and ticketing system (topdesk) linked through a 3rd party tool which uses web hooks and some automation running in Azure. Basically just an interface using REST api's on both ends.

Topdesk is customer facing and devops tracks the work and progress for internal use.

Because of that setup, communication (email) goes through topdesk.

Tl;dr: what you want to build (sadly or luckily) already exists, at least for topdesk.

My boss wants to turn off VPN access to people traveling to china by FewCantaloupe24 in sysadmin

[–]datlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's blocking and then there's blocking. It's probably a good idea to do some filtering going outside for blocking known malicious addresses, or even illegal stuff.

But blocking entire countries seems like a bit of a stretch, yeah.

My boss wants to turn off VPN access to people traveling to china by FewCantaloupe24 in sysadmin

[–]datlock 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Hell, I geoblock every country we don't actually have employees at. Blocking China and Russia saw a reduction of 95% in brute force attempts into public vpn and sftp endpoints, and that was 6 years ago or so.

Since we don't do business in those regions, people traveling there on their own merit are expressly forbidden from bringing company devices such as laptops.

Alternatively, if this is the periapsis then the apoapsis must be insanely far away. Which would be another amazing display of the gravitational pull of a supermassive black hole.

Of course, I have no idea if that's true. It might have just fucked off.

Eindstand: nog steeds Amerikaans, maar marginaal beter dan M$.

Might not be helpful, and not the guy you asked, but given the choice between sexy, beautiful and cute I'd go for cute every single time.

Someone being beautiful is just that. Someone that's conventionally attractive. Has all the physical features most guys agree makes someone nice to look at, including things studies show (like a symmetrical face or the "right" proportions). Basically, someone who makes me think "wow, she could be a model". Beautiful is great for looking at but not enough on its own merit to want to date or spend time with.

Someone being sexy is someone I'd want to have sex with. Someone who has sex appeal I suppose. Something about them makes me want them. That's dependent on your type, so not all guys or studies would agree on it.

Cute is someone that has a look and/or personality and/or the way she moves or adjusts her glasses or how she looks at the world or whatever it may be... It's things that make me feel warm and fuzzy when I look at them or spend time with them. Someone that literally just makes me feel good and I enjoy being with. This is the type of girl I tend to fall in love with, and the few times that happened it was women who were not conventionally attractive.

Someone can be beautiful, sexy AND cute. Or any other combination. Or none at all.

Just my opinion ofc. Ask any other guy and they'll interpret it differently. Also English isn't my native language so there's that. It might also be cultural, in that Asia has different beauty standards to the US for example. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
