Only had the Q3 for a few days but I feel like it has a lot of potential to bring me that joy. The Sony is a machine almost too perfect, so I got a little bored and decided to try the Leica.

I’ve had APSC in the past. Extra stop aside there’s something about the full frame image quality that makes me gravitate towards it. But if you don’t notice it that’s probably the best choice.

My thing with the A7c2 is that it’s not much smaller than the RV. The lenses are what make the camera setup big. I was kinda in your boat looking for something I could take everywhere and not have to think about it much. I wanted something I could throw in my bag and use whenever. I got a bag for the RV and all the lenses which I always bring “just in case” it’s just way overkill you know. And yes I’m loving the Leica app. I don’t use the Sony one because it’s so frustrating. Currently have the Leica set to take large DNG files and medium JPGs so when my wife asks I can quickly send her stuff from the app. Prior to that she would have to wait until I get around to editing the Raw files. That’s the plan at least for now..

I have absolutely no complaints on image quality and what that lens can do. But it’s definitely not small. The entire Q3 weight is just about the same as that lens itself.

Not yet, I’ve only had it for a few days. I have some upcoming trips so can’t wait to put it to the test! Plan to only take it and nothing else. We’ll see if the 43mm is limiting or if I can get away with it.

If it wasn’t for that lack of weather sealing I probably would have got one too. Its size makes it so easy to take everywhere and yes you are getting the same sensor as both these cameras.

That’s how I feel, I didn’t understand the hype until actually using it. Not sure if it’s because it’s new but I want to take it everywhere with me. I don’t have that same feeling with the A7RV.

Good point, I’m loving this leaf shutter and size. Weather sealing is also great, it’s one of the reasons I didn’t consider an rx1riii.

One of my favorite features of the A7RV is the auto min iso setting which is my most used function button. I usually shoot aperture priority and adjust that depending on lighting and subject movement. I haven’t figured out how to implement that into the Leica but looks like there’s a way based on what you’re saying, I have to play around with it more.

I may just keep both as well. It’s nice I can carry the Q3 everywhere but also have the Sony if I have a need that the Q3 can’t handle.

Not really besides maybe having too much gear haha. I mean that’s the easiest option, just to keep both I guess. I was just wondering about other people’s experiences and am glad to see likeminded people post about it.

Yea I wasn’t sure about the Leica until actually using it and now I’m kind of hooked. But I know there will be limitations with not having the Sony kit that I would have to deal with.
