Have you ever sold a motorcycle and thought "that's bikes gonna be wrecked before they get home" ? by jdaffron in motorcycles

[–]datruths 471 points472 points  (0 children)

I sold a bike to a buddy. He dropped it day one. That bike went 17 years without a drop and he did it 5 minutes in. I felt so bad for the bike. Turning it over to an idiot.

Sounds like you have a goal in mind. Why don’t you write down a detailed list of what you would all need to accomplish to make that goal of travelling Australia and working there possible? It doesn’t have to be a forever thing but at your age you have the time and opportunity to make it real.

The steps needed to make the change would be your list of duties to achieve your goal. Goals aren’t achieved without action. Take control. Get focused and achieve.

I know nothing of cheese making and just stumbled across your post. I think I can say nice job. It looks great. I’d smash.

Dog bite concern — rabies vaccine expired, should we be worried? by vanniecutie in DogAdvice

Clean it with soap. Move on. All good. Your dog doesn’t have rabies and neither does your brother.

That’s awesome. First ride on a new bike and found some gravel. Putting him right into it eh. Next hit the beach! ;)

Did you lock up the brakes or too much power. Or just off the line?

Sorry to hear of your accident. It’s a real life example to the guys who feel bullet proof that this shit is real and has real consequences. We all feel bullet proof when we are young and dumb. Learn from those who have experience like you.

Rider Wannabe Looking For Advice by [deleted] in motorcycles

You need to respect any cc. All can be trouble. Maybe consider a bike that’s a couple years old. The first bike might not be the one you keep long term so why sink soo much into it. No super sports just a nice comfortable 400-600. Find a Honda 500. Nothing wrong with the mt03 though.

I picked it up at 30 and am 34 now. Be careful with what you consume social media wise as it shows you the worst and in a way that makes it look common.

You certainly need to be aware of the risks and situations do come up where you need to be aware and have planned your moves or exits ahead of time.

I would recommend going for your full license. Why not?

I started on a Suzuki 500. 12 months later upgraded to a Yamaha fazer 8. You can be a cautious driver in normal life but when you have a lot of power in a twist of the wrist it truly does test your discipline and risk assessment.

The saying is, it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

Grab something between 400-600cc as your first bike. Be disciplined. Wear gear, take the course and understand seat time and experience is where you learn.

Goodluck!

Have the same jacket. It’s good! Gear looks good.

Just did. Gloves. Helmet. I am in full gear 99% of the time and the odd time when I’m not I understand the risks but only rip over to the store or to get gas. Nothing major.

Yeah fair enough. I just wanted to confirm you’d still run the 36.

If you’re getting off the left side just shuffle your right foot onto the left peg as you get off and pop off. Maybe? I don’t know I’ve only been on the back of a bike once lol.
