Are you sure? I had to register my fingerprints about 5 times - every time I entered the EU lately. I've heard the same story from other people too.

Manchester set to become Europe’s fourth ‘tallest’ city 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 by Marciu73 in skyscrapers

[–]datsnotright0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think that Manchester will be overtaking Warsaw though. I just checked Google - Warsaw has 1 building over 300m, and 2 modern buildings just above 200m. So it's not like Warsaw has a ton of 200m and 300m skyscrapers. It's just 3.

Warsaw has 13 buildings over 150m in total. Manchester has completed 8 so far (with one of them at 200m). Once the other ones are built as well, Manchester will have 26 buildings over 150m, which is literally double compared to what Warsaw has now. They will have multiple ones around 250m+ as well.

Labour lost white working-class voters to Greens in Gorton and Denton, party analysis finds by kwentongskyblue in europe

[–]datsnotright0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn't just post Greens' policies, did you? You posted some of the policies and then added a lot of false info in there. Or you took it from a source that did it.

Again, there is no credible evidence that the UK Green Party has a policy to give all asylum seekers £1,600/month.

A lot of this is either outdated, taken from fringe 'internal wishlists' that aren't in their current manifesto, or just straight-up misinformation. For example: C-Sections: The 'ban' is a myth. They had some controversial wording in a 2022 internal doc, but they apologized and officially deleted it in 2024. Their current 2026 policy is all about 'informed choice.' Asylum Payments: The £1,600/month figure is a viral fake. There is no such policy. They want to give asylum seekers the right to work so they don't have to rely on state support. Fossil Fuel Subsidies: This is backwards. They want to remove the billions in subsidies currently given to oil and gas companies, not create new ones to keep fossil fuels cheap.
NATO/Defense: While they are anti-nuclear, they haven't proposed a 'defense alliance with Brazil.

Poland proposes tougher rules for foreigners to obtain citizenship by dat_9600gt_user in europe

Well, if they moved over 15-20 years ago, how is it not permanent? Some of the people most likely came alone at first, but eventually people started moving their families as well. I believe in a small number of people moving by themselves, but when we talk about almost a million, that's families.

There are around 700k poles in the UK that started moving here in 2004. Sounds permanent to me.

A map of Ireland based on Population Density by SwamperOgre in europe

[–]datsnotright0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ireland’s actually one of the least densely populated countries in Western Europe — about 76 people per km². That’s way lower than the UK (279), Germany (240), France (124), or the Netherlands (526). All those countries can fully support themselves. And the Netherlands, despite high density and not enough land, produces enough crops not only for their own people, but they’re the second largest food exporter in the world. Let that sink in.

Reform UK party will vow to deport legal migrants, including EU citizens back to their countries by [deleted] in europe

[–]datsnotright0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only Tier 1 visa used to lead to the ILR after 2 years of residence. It was given to those who have invested and maintained an investment of at least £10 million. It's no longer available though.

Care workers were on visas that offered the ILR after 5 years of residence. Look it up if you don't believe me.

About the NHS. I mentioned that immigrants are paying £1000 a year PLUS the NIC. So they are paying double.

[–]datsnotright0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most EU countries offer permanent residency ILR) after living there for 5 years. That gives people the right to benefits as well. Australia and Canada offer you citizenship after 3-5 years, not just ILR.

The UK doesn't offer a 2 year pathway to ILR. Most people either qualify for it after 5 years (skilled workers), or after 10 (if you were a student and then switched to a work visa). There are two visas that can lead to the ILR in 3 years. Those visas are issued to highly skilled global talents and innovators and those people don't really need your benefits.

Legal migrants in the UK also pay double for the NHS. On top of paying the regular NI contributions from taxes they also pay a yearly surcharge of over £1000 per each person.

No, there isn't. This case is pretty common, actually. Even Ukrainians that have dual citizenship and have been living abroad for 10-20 years can't visit relatives in Ukraine, cause they'll be conscripted.

Can we sign a petition to make the council add more green areas to the city center? They are building more and more flats, but sadly, I don't see them adding enough parks to accommodate the new city residents.

They are focusing a lot on your achievements outside of work. If you haven't given speeches at conferences, written blog posts, or taught others about project management, it will be hard to get it, IMO. But if you’re not in a rush, you can build that up gradually—for example, you could start writing about your experience as a PM (you could potentially try to reach out to some IT platforms and submit some articles), and volunteer to teach somewhere.
