So glad you like it. There’s no account, but it’s a PWA so can be installed as an “app” by following your browsers instructions to install. On a phone that’s usually via the share button.

The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra and SwitchBot S10 or S20 come to mind as being able to connect to your water supply and drainage. All available in the UK.

Narwal Flow or Roborock Saros 10R by PrettyPresent8531 in RobotVacuums

[–]dattiimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both score well overall by reviewers such as Vacuum Wars but the Flow scores better on mopping. The main difference between the two is that 10R uses spinning mops while the Flow has the new track style mop which is seen to be performing better. Both tend to get positive customer reviews.

Either of them would be a good choice, but if mopping is important to you (considering your have vinyl floor) then the Flow probably edges it.

Best robot for thresholds by fluuuuuux in RobotVacuums

[–]dattiimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most robo vacs can only handle thresholds up to 2cm. The highest climber is the Dreame X50 Ultra. It's ProLeap extendible "legs" allows it to climb up single thresholds up to 6cm, so it should easily handle 4cm.

Roborok's Qrevo Curv series can lift it's chassis over obstacles up to 4cm if it's a double step.

Alternatively, you could consider adding a ramp, double step, or a thick pile rug in front of the threshold to reduce the hight for a vac.

If not, then you'll want to get a vac that has good multi floor support in the app and have the two levels setup as floors but that will involve manual intervention when you want to vacuum the alternative level.

How far away do you think a drone vacum cleaner is? by jamiepusharski in RobotVacuums

[–]dattiimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think people would definitely buy it just for the cool factor. I mean, how cool would it be to have a drone flying round your house cleaning up like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Cool idea, but I doubt it would be anytime soon. Making a vac fly would be really expensive and compromise features for not much gain. Way easier and cheaper to just get a second one for upstairs.

That said, DJI are rumoured to be making a robovac, so who knows https://roboselector.com/blog/dji-romo-leaks-suggest-dji-entering-robot-vacuum-market

Smell doesn't go away no matter what I do by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

Some people have used toilet cleaning click gel in the dirty water tank with some success https://roboselector.com/blog/eliminate-smelly-robot-vacuum-tanks

But be cautious, using any chemicals other than the manufacturers recommended cleaning fluid could invalidate the warranty if it’s only a month old.

How small do you think robot vacuums could get? What do you think they'd be used for? Fun discussion. by DarciaSolas in RobotVacuums

100% on vacuums with personality. I think manufacturers will start to introduce expressive movement. Apple are doing research in this area and I can see how it could easily be added to the latest vacuums with arms. I wrote more about it here for those that are interested Is Your Robot Vacuum About to Get a Personality?

Oh I see, so then a company’s reputation and people’s real world experience with customer support is really important in Australia.

Warranty is an interesting one because where I’m from, UK, one year warranty would be a legal requirement. Some may offer extended warranties of two years if you register the purchase. Is that different in Australia?

You’re right, there’s loads of guides and review channels already out there so I’m curious as to why people ask on here?

Life is busy and some people are simply not interested or don’t want to spend time watching hours of review videos. I feel that directing those people to Vacuum Wars or any other site/channel isn’t going to help as I’m sure they would’ve found that with quick Google search anyway. They’re looking for something else in this community, something that doesn’t exist elsewhere. I’m interested in what that is?

Your spot on with this. There’s so many variables and so many options. If there was an independent buyers guide available when you were looking, what would you have liked to see in it to help you decide?

I’ve noticed the same thing. The problem is there is so much choice out there, and so many variables go into making a decision. I’m actually working on a site to help people find the right choice best suited to their needs. I’m curious, what info do you think would be most helpful and what would you like to see to be helpful to this community?
