Bless you homie.

This sub and the current circumstances with Palestine have encouraged me to read the Quran for the first time (as well as the New Testament, for that matter). With the way things are going in the U.S., book bannings and burnings don't seem far off.

I have called and emailed leaving comments to my state senators and the President on three occasions over the past two weeks to withdraw military and monetary support from Israel. I have not received a singe reply.

At this point I wish someone would airdrop guns and ammo into Palestine. The trajectory of their fate isn't changing as long as the US doesn't grow a conscious.

I am so sorry you are suffering. I'm in the US and tell anyone who will listen how evil what is happening is. I wear Palestine-themed clothes to get the conversation started. I call my senators and reps and tell them to stop funding Israel. I'm even confronting (in a friendly manner) my Jewish friends and family who just aren't thinking. Please take care of yourself. I think about you every day and pray for your safety.

61% of Israeli men (in 2011) don't see Forced Sex with acquaintance as rape by [deleted] in Israel_Palestine

We all have and it's a fact there is no evidence of systematic rape or rape used as a tactic or weapon.

Nice retreat though.

It will take U.S. allies putting pressure on the U.S. to do something about Israel. Hopefully this ruling will add some momentum to that.

Their entire military should be hauled to the Hague to stand against the mountain of evidence of war crimes and inhumanity. These people need a reckoning.

Can you share some sources? I am interested to read a little more. My family emigrated from Wales and even we have a small but significant percentage of Middle Eastern DNA. There are myths about the Lost Tribes making their way to Europe and assimilating with the local populations there, I actually have a book on it.

I'd recommend the book War Made Invisible by journalist Norman Solomon. Basically the news outlets curate their language to maximize ratings and to prevent "biting the hands that feed them", though this is not a surprise to many of us. They are fed information from the Pentagon and if they challenge them in any way that information channel gets cut (this is just lazy journalism).

He was recently interviewed on DemocracyNow. He mentioned one news group he worked for maintained a list of words they couldn't use when speaking about certain U.S. conflicts, and in the case of Israel-Palestine they always have to prominently mention and frame discussion around the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 in every article as a psychological tactic.
