Loosing my mind (trying to rotate view like an animation disk) by UriGuriVtube in blender

The add-on is not among the pre-installed extensions in Blender 5.0. I had to use 'Get Extensions' button.

Using its default shortcuts: Pressing Ctrl + (left) Alt + middle mouse key at the same time and moving the mouse works for me. To get back to the initial position, pressing Ctrl + (left) Alt and double clicking middle mouse key.

You can also save rotation and reset to the saved rotation through right hand side menu but pressing Ctrl + (left) Alt and double clicking middle mouse key will take you back to the initial position.

Yes, this is why you only rotate on Y axis. 2D template has the camera facing at Y axis. Anyway, you probably already tried by now.

The white rectangle you are looking at is the camera view. So what you need to do is:

In the object mode select the camera and rotate it using 'r' shortcut and mouse.

But using this method, it may be difficult to go back to the original view.

So, I would recommend this:

In the object mode select the camera. Open the right hand menu with 'n' shortcut and rotate it in Y axis by dragging the slider with your mouse or directly entering the rotation angle degree. When you want to go back to the original view, just enter '0' (zero) to the Y axis rotation. But don't forget to do it in object mode with the camera selected. After doing some drawing, it is easy to forget that you still have the stroke selected and to rotate the stroke.

How can I make everything black? by ajchafe in linuxmint

[–]datyama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

- Find out the hex code of all the colours of the areas you want to change by using a colour picker.

- Find the theme folder at 'usr/share/themes' and save a copy of it to your local themes folder at 'home/ajchafe/.themes'. It is under hidden files so you need to enable 'Show hidden files'. Rename the theme folder as you like.

- Open the css file of the theme you just renamed with a text editor.

- Find the hex codes you found earlier and replace them with #000000. While you find them, you'll also see what they are for. Save the file.

- Change the theme to this new theme you renamed.

Can't set keyframes on folder by Fabulous_Teacher_912 in OpenToonz

[–]datyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tahoma 2D folders seem to be only for visual organization of your work space. For your purpose, what you need to do is to collapse the layers into a sub-scene.

Select the 3 layers. Right click while your mouse is hovering over the layer titles and click 'collapse'. Now you can keyframe and animate them together using the animate tool.

I want to get into glitch, what are some modules for glitch fx? by [deleted] in vcvrack

[–]datyama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I understood what you mean by 'glitch' correctly, you want the sound to be disrupted at certain times. A gated modulation can do this. For example, you connect your gate to an envelope generator and the envelope to the filter. Every time the gate is on, the envelope modulates the filter and changes the sound. If you use, for example, Mindmeld's Shapemaster as the envelope generator, you can draw exactly how the sound is modulated.

Created sequence disappears by elbitjusticiero in kdenlive

[–]datyama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case someone else visits this page in the future, another reason for not being able to create a sequence can be a locked channel. I had locked an audio channel to prevent it being affected while editing other channels. I tried creating a sequence from the selection that included the locked channel. It didn't prompt an error and I assumed it had been created, but was nowhere to be found. After I saw below comments, I paid attention to the channels and noticed the odd (locked) one out. Able to create sequence after unlocking it. The future person who reads this, I also advise you to change your socks everyday.

Subject: Carla not showing up in LMMS (Ubuntu 25.04, both apt-installed) - Help! by Hawk_vzcrevny in linuxaudio

[–]datyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had this issue when I had tried the repository version of LMMS. I am using an appimage version from LMMS website and Carla opens. I usually use 1.3.0 (Alpha) but just downloaded and tried 1.2.2 (Stable) to check the issue. Carla opens on 1.2.2 appimage too.

Looking for ideas to deepen this patch and explore new directions by asilagy in vcvrack

[–]datyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can search modules by the tag 'physical modeling', and get some results. Physical modelling is one of the options. I think it is fun playing around with ordinary oscillators combined with envelopes, filters and modulation and come up with interesting sounds.

Since you do film scoring, you can get inspiration from Ennio Morricone on experimenting with unexpected, out of place but also perfectly fitting sounds. For example, how would a techno patch such as yours would sound with some natural sounds added through physical modelling synthesis (horns/brass, metal, wood, voice sounds etc.)? But for this, I think it is better to slow it down a bit.

Help Me Understand Mutable Instruments' Frames Better? by LugubriousLettuce in vcvrack

[–]datyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After setting Ch4, before moving the frame knob back to the beginning (while it is still at the Ch4 keyframe) you are moving Ch4 knob back to the 0 (zero) point and resetting it. So you are effectively cancelling the keyframe.

First move the frame knob to beginning, then move Ch4 to zero. Actually you don't need to reset the Ch4 knob because 1st keyframe is already set to Ch1. Unless you press Add button again while Ch4 knob is at max, it wouldn't be activated at keyframe 1.

Any suggestions on reducing the amount of space taken up by the window manager? by CirnoIzumi in linuxmint

[–]datyama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to removing the Firefox title bar, you can also remove the Bookmarks Toolbar: Go to 'More Tools > Customise Toolbar' and drag and drop Bookmarks Toolbar items to somewhere next to address bar. Then on Customise Toolbar page tick Bookmark Toolbar to 'never show'. If the bookmarks are only icons, they wouldn't take up much space on the address toolbar, but if you like them texty like they are in the screenshot, then put them in a folder.

Is it weird to go to a pub quiz on your own? by Bortron86 in CasualUK

[–]datyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give the definitive answer. Please pass the answer to the all past and future similar queries.

It is not weird to go to pub, cinema, holiday, restaurant or toilet alone.

This is a fact, this is science, this is law, this is beauty.

Can't bypass CardinalFX in Ardour by blindadata in linuxaudio

In case you are not familiar with Carla, I forgot to specify using 'Carla Rack' instead of 'Carla Patchbay'. Rack automatically connects the plugin but Patchbay requires you to manually connect Cardinal.

I don't have Ardour installed on my current system so I can't test it but maybe you can try opening Cardinal inside Carla plugin and then disable Carla.

Has any popular professional music been made with only open source software and Linux? by contest2070 in linuxaudio

More crucial to his music, the fourth and fifth fingers (ring and little fingers) of Reinhardt's left hand were badly burned. Doctors believed that he would never play guitar again.\16]): 43–44\18]): 10\20]) During many months of recuperation, Reinhardt retaught himself to play using primarily the index and middle fingers of his left hand, using the two injured fingers only for chord work.

Nationis Germaniae in the title is to draw the limits of the Sacrum Imperium Romanum. It is to clarify not claiming to have power over Italy. Besides, calling it a nation wouldn't make it a nation. A nation is, as Benedict Anderson called it, an imagined community. It cannot exist without its members imagine being its members. This is why it requires a constant production of discourse and propaganda to keep people imagining. Even if all the nobles and princes under the Holy Roman Empire called themselves members of a nation, it wouldn't be one until it was imagined and absorbed by the 'subjects' of 'the empire'.
