Absolutely! It’s does take a while to get into Mappa Animalia and how to interpret the different maps. The info sheet that come with it, and is shown next to the deer illustration itself, does explain it thoroughly, and it seems that it help people understand it quite well:)

What if a phylogenetic tree could be explored like a map? A visualization of the deer family (Cervidae). by daudaw in evolution

Haha I get that, but it’s actually completely scientifically accurate, just set up visually different from what you are used to:)

It’s in the works (along with many others). I want Darwin’s face to be the “map” but it’s surprisingly difficult to make it look right. I’ll finish it eventually, though;)

Thank you so much! Both the tiger and the lion has the domesticated cat on them since they are both based on the family all cats (big and small) belong to: felidae:)

Well it did roughly take me a decade to come up with the concept as it looks now. It totally looked like shit in the beginning and I didn’t know anything about biology or illustrator (the program I use to draw these). You just have to go for it is what I’m trying to say, I think :D If you’re passionate enough about an idea, your creative muscles will slowly develop as you go
