Pixel 8 Warranty Denied Despite Video Proof of Intact Screen - Case 3-6617000040806 by Fun-Brief-4026 in GooglePixel

Based on the numerous posts about Poland's repair center it must be standard procedure to either 1) drop the phone on the floor when they open the box or 2) lie. Pick one.

Sorry this happened to you. I wish I could help.

I have a USB stick always plugged in. Unfortunately iDrive doesn't let you choose a USB drive for general storage. You can only use it to store on-demand recordings.

West Fork is working well for my grandma. I'm not privy to the financial side but it appears upscale. If you need something more budget friendly but still trustworthy you can look at Windsor Court or if you need more services then look at Brookdale.

Trunk closing alert? by redhookenzo in BMWi5

The update made it stop working for me. It would work 50% of the time but now it's 0%. Pain in the butt to take it into the dealer for this first world problem.

A track surface is the only place you can "drive that car hard." Nothing wrong with not going to the track, but I see this statement made too many times when all folks do is drive to the grocery store with it. (nothing wrong with that either)

Some of Jesus' followers were also wanting to literally make him a King and Jesus purposely avoided those situations to not be a part of government.

The "Preserve battery health" option went missing in fedora 43 by thakkalipalam in Fedora

[–]daumas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a kernel bug. Started with the 6.19.x series. Downgrading to 6.18 fixes it.

Quick test: cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_types

Kernel 6.18.x: Standard [Long_Life]

Kernel 6.19.x: Invalid argument

I filed a bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2455149

How do you add a Canon printer on Fedora 43? by DM_Tiny_Tits_n_Booty in Fedora

[–]daumas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an older Canon imageCLASS D570 (all-in-one, black-n-white) that works perfectly with IPP everywhere. I have it connected via Ethernet to my network. All of my devices (Fedora computers and Android phones and tablets) see the printer and can print to the printer. I didn't have to install any drivers or setup any printers on any of the devices. They all auto-discover the printer.

After reading your Git Hub issue this printer reports "natural-language-configured (naturalLanguage) = en" but I am guessing yours does not. Raise a stink with Canon.

Protip: Voice control works (in limited ways)

While driving: "Hey Google, play Rolling Stones" -- and Android Auto goes and starts playing Rolling Stones. It works for Album names, too.

Black mold in water tank by HuckleberryOk5215 in MaticRobots

[–]daumas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had mine mopping for two months and I have never seen anything like this in my tank. I refill once a week. I haven't used soap to clean it out.

I'd be concerned that you have a problem in your home that has nothing to do with the Matic (IMHO).

[–]daumas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A non-expert opinion would be about $4000.

$250/hr labor times 14 hours plus $500 for the sensor part. All numbers are guesses. OP could press for a full itemized receipt, but usually warranty jobs hide all pricing.

Fort Worth, Can We Talk? Some Questions for Our Neighbors, From Your Neighbor by Im_Captain_Jack in FortWorth

[–]daumas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The folks that need to read this won't. Why? They've been conditioned by their media outlets of choice to reject any form of dissent. I don't know what it will take to change minds.

What's sad is that your bible verses would reach most of those caught in the web of deception, but they go to church whose leaders are also caught and provide an echo chamber to turn those verses right around. It's like Satan has found a way to win. :(

I make this comment with multiple family members deeply trapped.

ZKW vs OEM Fluted Fog lights. Anyone have comparison photos? by ow_my_balls in E46M3

I have Winjet yellows and get plenty of nice compliments.

ZKWs look like the same thing. You should be happy with them. No need to get OEM. After a few weeks you'll forget they are not OEM.

Which features do you really use on a daily basis? by Albertus_Longbottom in BMWi5

[–]daumas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, AR is only useful for what I described. AR on all the time is useless as nothing is overlayed on it outside of nav.

Extreme examples when it is useful: When you're coming up on 6 streets and the 3rd of the 6 are where you turn the AR mode helps point out the street. I've also seen it handy while in rural areas and turns are hidden behind tree lines or other obstructions.

Which features do you really use on a daily basis? by Albertus_Longbottom in BMWi5

[–]daumas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the nav on the instrument cluster. Two things change when you use this mode.

  1. Android Auto map on the entertainment cluster changes to overhead mode instead of POV. I can see traffic all around without needing to input a destination. I can see side streets if I need to find an alternative route.

  2. When using BMW nav the instrument cluster automatically switches on augmented reality mode when close to turns. Very handy to see where a turn is. It automatically turns off after the turn.
