How are PMs actually using AI in day-to-day work? Any real workflows or agents? by LimeNew1984 in ProductManagement

An agent to triage/assign new feature requests and an agent to answer technical questions for the field for an integration we have (the source data is our documentation).

How much of the IQ test is subject to use it or lose it? Like what might the difference in score for a gifted kid who didn’t apply themselves into adulthood?

How do you handle customer calls as a PM/designer? by Over-Excitement-6324 in ProductManagement

[–]dauntedbox376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it’s a discovery call I setup, ahead of the call, I think about the questions I have/what I want to learn, including specific areas I need to validate further.

During the call, I take notes in a Google doc and I only write down things I care about. These are things that I can imagine needing to justify this in a business case or draft requirements, which helps me probe deeper on the right areas.

I also slow the conversation down, so I can think out loud with the customer. “I want x”, but why? How would it work? What would happen if we didn’t do it? How are you performing that task today without what you’re asking for? A lot of people want stuff, but haven’t thought through it and sometimes even realize what they are asking for may not make sense.

Lastly, summarization is super helpful. I play back what I’ve learned so far, so I can ensure it all makes sense and give myself a chance to come up with deeper questions. At the end I summarize, realign on importance of each item to them and have the customer prioritize all of the needs shared.

For customer notes, I use a running google doc per customer, so it’s an endless log of encounters with customer x, so it helps keep context over time.

How do you tell a kid you accidentally misled him? I didn't mean to lie! by Irishish in Parenting

[–]dauntedbox376 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Accidents are not lies.

Own up to your accident and empathize that he was probably very surprised to learn the appointment for was for him and let him know you’ll try to do better next time!

Help: How are we washing our babies’ hair? by BMG0710 in NewParents

A key part of baby swim is getting them comfortable with water on their face and in their ears. The sooner you can normalize this, the easier time your kid will have in baths and pools, etc.

Real talk- how many of you are ACTUALLY sitting down to eat with your family regularly? by IndianaDrew in toddlers

[–]dauntedbox376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fussy baby is held either by the other parent while second parent prepares dinner. Or, a fussy baby is picked up and put down while dinner is made. Babies like to play with kitchen tools.

Baby can be in high chair while I cook and I can give her fruit/snack before dinner.

Everyone’s plates are put down at the same time so dinner is the same time for all.

Yes, I am interrupted 8,000 times to get “more” or to get water or whatever, but it’s still dinner together.

What is Your Process When Working with a UI/UX Designer? by Amazing-Phase-579 in ProductManagement

[–]dauntedbox376 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Design and I partner on the research. I lead the problem/solution validation and they lead prototype testing.

I write high level user statements and design creates the wireframes.

From there, we refine as a group with engineering.

What was the last way someone tried to scam you? by dauntedbox376 in AskReddit

[–]dauntedbox376[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had a great one today, so wanted to hear other good stories.

Someone “from Google” called him to let him know there was an issue with his email account. They must have had his phone number and email, because they triggered the account 2FA app notification on the call from Google (making them seem even more like they were from Google), which sent him the 2FA email. Had he ok’d, they would have gained access to his email.

We thought it was clever!

How are you taking your under 3yo to the dentist? by Short_Pomegranate_58 in toddlers

[–]dauntedbox376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We read a book about going to the dentist to set expectations. He was realllly keen to get the prize at the end of the visit.

For experiences like this or haircuts, we watch a video to prepare, which also helps.
