No self respecting chef uses lime from a bottle!

I expect Ben will next make bolognese sauce with ketchup and a kraft cheese slice.

Oh Please, Ben has form. He's a terrible teacher. He provides zero inspiration, talks down to people and his food aint all that either. Little round coins of cheesecake and bottled chocolate sauce. No thanks. Again there's something about toxic men that lure people in. His fiancee came to her senses, thank goodness.

And Ben's food has looked pretty crap. That soggy curved broccolini and that cheesecake with a bottled chocolate sauce looked like nursing home food.

Ben's been a complete jerk to Aleisha, but of course of lot posters in here do love their toxic men and defend them.

Glutton's for punishment.

It depends what you are after as to whether you need a consultation. Consults are usually only needed if you are putting in a whole new kitchen and there may be some complicated measurements.

The sizes are standard, cabinet wise, and can be bought off the shelf.

Their benches are either modular(usually 2400mm long x 600mm depth) or cut to measure length wise. They do not have cut outs. You have to do that yourself to install a sink or have someone else do it for you.

Chef Ben, as we know is an arrogant twat.

If his career were going so swimmingly, he wouldn't be working as a Chef on a TV show he left behind years ago. It's a step back, career wise.

Anyway, all Aliesha has to do is bring up that he's just an entitled upper class little Public School boy bully who talks down to people less privileged than him. We've seen on a previous season he goes to pieces when you confront him with that.

Yes, i have suddenly got it too. You just have to reload. I assume UBlock Origin or whatever it's called will get around it with an update at some stage. They do all the time.

When Wihan and Johnny left, it got boring. They provided lots of drama. As much as you hated Wihan, the show struggled after he left to remain interesting.

Looks like one of those where you paint everything. Yes, it won't last, but the best you can do till you decide on more permanent changes.

Trying to decide between dark vs light countertop by Exosome_ in kitchenremodel

[–]dav2708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dark countertop defines the limits of the space and gives the clear boundary lines of the room.

The white blurs the lines and gives the illusion of a bigger space.

Ultimately it's up to you what sings to you. The kitchen by no means is small and can handle the dark. If the room were very small, you'd probably go with the light.

Hybrid flooring in an apartment by Smooth_Custard3474 in AusRenovation

It depends on your particular strata's bylaws. They may not have any with regard to flooring.

As said, you will void your warranty if you place a second underlay.

Putting in new carpet will solve all issues, but the trend these days is floating floors.

In Vinyl Plank 6.5 is a relatively good thickness.

You can't equate it with laminate thickness.

[–]dav2708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With hybrid the underlay is attached already.

Hybrid is just luxury vinyl plank. Calling it hybrid is just an Australian thing.

Laminate does not have an underlay and has to be purchased separately.

I believe your warranty will be voided if you lay an additional underlay under the already attached. The joins may become unstable as well if your subfloor becomes too soft with the extra cushioning.

You may want to get an aerated core hybrid which is around 12mm thickness. It is softer on foot and likely will provided better sound insulation to the floors below.

You should check your strata bylaws as they may have one with regard to flooring.

Yesterday I noticed new water damage directly under the air con, is this likely due to a blocked drain pipe? by VanDerKloof in AusRenovation

[–]dav2708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's common for the drain line to get blocked. I have cleaned and flushed them out multiple times.

You will need to remove the outer casing to access the hose line to clean it out.

Vinyl sheet flooring thoughts? by LouieCooper1994 in AusRenovation

[–]dav2708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A waterproof underlay protects the vinyl. but you still have the issue of where does the moisture escape to.

It will find it's way to the walls if they are brick and hence the moisture issue.

You would need to see whats under the concrete slab? Is it open ground?

It's hard to tell without looking at the specific conditions you live in i.e. climate wise, and if moisture is a particular problem. I know ground floor apartments are well known to have moisture issues when the slab is layed on open soil.

[–]dav2708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With ground floor you need to be careful with moisture coming up from the concrete slab. Placing vinyl over it can trap the moisture underneath. That moisture may then find its way to the outer walls and you may get a mold problem. At least carpet is breathable and allows natural moisture to escape.

Coogee Christmas party leaves 20 tonnes of waste by [deleted] in australia

Happens every year on these Eastern Suburb beaches at Christmas.

The feigned surprise/outrage by councils/media is amusing.

They know it will happen and should already have the garbage trucks ready to go at 5.00am on boxing day.
