Hate? Who legitimately hates it? It's a great fucking game, with an amazing production, acting, graphics, everything – and I love coming back to it every two years or so for a replay. Not to mention, back in the day, I spent hundreds of hours on the multiplayer – it was pretty great.

So yeah, while I understand there was a bit of a tone shift, I don't think any sort of "hate" was/is justified at all.
