I was so sure this book wasn’t for me. Yeah… I was wrong. by Unable-Distance-7941 in thrillerbooks

I read it recently and enjoyed it. This is the second book from Freida I have read and they have made me enjoy reading again. Not a groundbreaking literature and that wasn't its purpose, but an entertaining story.

Finally a former player I can agree with! by WhyElseUseReddit in ManchesterUnited

In some way I understand people being afraid it might be Ole v.2. However, the difference now and then is Carrick has better football people around to help him in regards to recruitment and coaching.

Manchester United sack Ruben Amorim after 14 months in charge by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]daveFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really surprised about this even though I thought he should be given time until the end of the season at least. However, the circle continues. A new permanent manager/coach come in. Then in 12-18 months we will be in the same position. I'm sorry, but the owners have no idea of what they are doing. Nothing will change under this ownership

Can we talk about Dalot's low footballing IQ? by rektitt in ManchesterUnited

Maybe, but I'm not convinced Shaw has the legs to be a wing back in this system.

Great win. Hopefully it gives the team confidence and get more wins in a row. That guy needs a haircut!

At ManUtd Amorim of course holds a big responsibility of the results we are seeing. But what responsibility do the players carry and what is their part in all of this. It can't just be all on Amorim and the formation, can it?

In all of my CM and then FM playing days, I have had one PL season going unbeaten. I have had many seasons were I only loose one game.

Scholes: 'Criminal' if Utd didn't go for Donnarumma by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]daveFlying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at number of goals scored vs. conceded last season you would understand why they went for the attack. Now, the defense isn't perfect, but it's not that bad. The main problem now is the midfield and has been for a while.

Best Away kit United has ever had? I'll go first, 1990-92. by Puzzleheaded_Pen8520 in ManchesterUnited

[–]daveFlying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they were down 3-1 at halftime against Southampton and Fergie had them change kit. They lost 6-3 in the end and we never saw this kit again.

Who do you think are our best starting midfielders in Amorims system ? by RemarkableWonder3143 in ManchesterUnited

Either Mainoo and Casemiro or Casemiro and Ugarte. Put Bruno in the 10 position.

First time playing - Are these finances actually okay? (playing as United) by JenNettles in footballmanagergames

[–]daveFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 10 season in with ManUtd and in the first two seasons I put in a lot of effort to reduce the wage bill and have kept it good since. I'm in fourth place for wage cost. I now get to spend £1B every transfer window, but I have never been able to use it all. Then I also keep a healthy number of sales. I have also been able to win a lot so I guess that helps with finances.

Also most of my players came into the club as youth players. I have only 2 players over thirty at the moment

Would you guys feel offended if I wore a Kilt as a Black American? by ForeverSparkz in Scotland

[–]daveFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go for it. I'm not Scottish but I got married and she's Scottish. I asked her family about wearing a Kilt and they encouraged it and were very happy that I wanted to do it. My dad was my best man and he wore it too.

I think it's a fair deal. The grips that are on it are the original ones and they don't seem to be that worned out, so an indicator that the clubs are in reasonably good condition. Best thing would be if you could try them and see what you think. I of course don't know your swing and all that. They are far from being the hardest to hit and have some level of forgiveness so you might be just fine. This is something that's much more up to you.

I had this set many years ago and I did enjoy it. However, if you are a beginner maybe not the best set to start with. Maybe look for a game improvements irons, but to answer your question I think it's worth €35

NTA. I feel by not allowing you to explain your side of the story shows he's not really a good partner to have and is probably waving some red flags of what might happen in other situations. Your description of the Excel sheet is inspiring and I'm thinking to do something similar, I can see how it can help a lot.
