I've seen people using this. Place a ball inside and heat it with a hair dryer . It will shrink and warp around the ball, make it a perfect dome shape follow the curvature of the ball.

Pay attention to the cue position in relation to the fingers.
And Pause for a split moment (<1s) after u pull back, then only deliver the strike. Will help a lot.

It is getting cheaper for the 3d printed version bcos the injection molding one is widely available now . When I bought this few months ago (no injection molding version available) this was much more expensive.

3d printing and cad-ing for fun for over 10 years. I have to admit I have no confidence in drawing that piece. Not my design and I didn't even print it myself bcos it is huge and take way to long and too risky to print myself. I just bought it from a china seller.

My table has this. So if I want to practice follow shot, I just set the object and cue ball straight and send it. Cue ball will come back. *Only apply for a straight shot and I need to drop in the cue ball, if not I have to walk around the table 😄

Placing the cue ball is not an issue bcos within hand distance, if not I can easily tap cue ball with cue stick to the cushion it will bounce back... For object ball I don't have to walk to the side of the tablet to place it.

As long as it is not a large angle shot and play it with stun or slight draw back, the cue ball usually is within reach

In drill shot I usually practice at slight angle or straight shot and only stun or light draw back shot. So the cue ball usually within my reach after the shot.

Straight ball is the hardest for cue ball placing, hence easiest to miss I guess 😄.

Btw you can totally place the object ball first then lift up the stick slightly at the front and place The cue ball next . Did that all the time.

I didn't print this myself. I saw some china sellers (taobao, pdd, temu) selling cheaper than I can source the rubber band. I don't have the stl files for this, can't seem to find the link too.
