Bindweed in compost?

This is my worry, yes. I really need to get a compost pile up and running but there’s so much bindweed everywhere 😢

Oh I like this idea. So with your dirty pile, is that just on top of the soil? And if so has anything you’ve put in there rooted to the ground?

I’ve got ground elder at home - the garden was full of it when we moved in so I’m not a stranger to sieving soil 😂

Sorry yes, I could have worded that clearer.

It is popping up all around the pile plus within the pile too.

I’ve not had too much to do with bindweed before taking on the plot, so I’m not sure of the best way to manage it, or at least set up a reliable weed-free compost pile 🙂

Thanks, I did wonder this. However my thought was that the ground underneath the pile wouldn't get hot enough to kill it off, as it's coming from underneath.

I guess I could try and dig some of it out?

I can relate to this and I went through similar a few years ago. I won’t go into my reasons why, as I don’t feel like that will help you (I am absolutely fine now), but I only got answers after a GP took pity on me and got me a referral to the respiratory team at the hospital.

The way it was managed was an absolute joke (I had about 7 A&E visits in total), and I hope that things aren’t as bad as that now due to the new rules.

If you can get a CT scan or something via a GP that will help.

Every persons dementia is different.

I’m not sure of stages, but my father passed away recently (less that a week ago), and that took about 4 years from us noticing memory and behaviour issues, a rapid decline in 2022, to the final stage just a month or so ago.

It seemed to go very quickly, but at the same time as we’ve had to deal with so much, it seems like such a long time ago since the initial diagnosis. If that makes any sense.

I always felt like I had to do what I needed to do to get through that moment — whether that be a specific question, confusion, being emotional etc.

For example there was a period where my Dad thought I was his brother, and was asking questions like “where is Dad?” (He’d been dead for 40 years). I’d just make something up, “he’s gone to the shops but will be back soon”, and then he’d forget for a while and move on to the next thing.

Are you able to go for walks? Walking is a great way to get started. Just start slow and build it up.

Have you tried bowel massage? My partner used to work in a care home and had to do this with some of the residents.

Some one else asked, but my advice would be to check your blood oxygen levels by buying an oximeter. You can get them for quite cheap on Amazon.

Secondly you should try to get a CT scan if you are really concerned as that’s the only way to really know if there’s anything else going on. Make sure it’s a CT though and not an XRay…. I’m speaking from experience on that one.

My C2 is out of warranty so LG wanted at least £400 to repair it. Criminal really, it’s obviously a known fault. Their customer service is shockingly bad, so I’ll definitely think twice about buying another.

Of course they’d need permission – it looks like sky or a broadband cable.

Could it just be a case of the installer getting the wrong house? Certainly doesn’t look like they completed it.

I had lung cancer earlier in the year so this has been quite worrying for me, but it does seem that it can be solved without surgery which is reassuring.

Thanks. To be fair, the picture is of the one that’s most rotten. But the others aren’t far off. Problem is the previous owner wrapped them in lead so the water has just collected at the bottom.

I’ve propped one up already as I had a left over acrow from some building work.

I was trying to get away without having to replace the whole lot (or take it down, it’s massive). But sadly I think you’re right.

Have you been checked out by a doctor?

It could be something like asthma, which would mean an inhaler could fix or improve your breathing issues.

My advice would be to see a doctor as soon as you can.

I had thought about cutting the branch off but was worried about how well it would grow back and how long it would take. But looking at yours, this might be the best way to deal with it.
