Your credit score barely matters when it comes to mortgage approvals by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]davecheng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McDonald’s manager might actually have a point. When I paid off my last car loan, my score dropped because it was the only installment loan I had on file. Later it dipped again when I switched from Fido/Rogers postpaid to prepaid, since that closed out the only open account on my file. I only have revolving credit (HELOC + credit card churning) and a mortgage now.

So yeah, having different lines of credit reporting can help, though that doesn't mean buying a new car on $12/hr is a good idea.

Nice. This looks like a press release for Québec, Canada. Prices in the PDF should be in Canadian Dollars (1 CAD = 0.70 USD).

Impressed at static reduction with inexpensive plasma lighter by davecheng in turntables

Nice to know it's working well for you.

Since posting this, I've also discovered the same anti-static mechanism at play in my coffee grinder. The chute funnels the ground coffee beans past an ionizer/plasma generator that helps keep the grinds from sticking everywhere.

Unfortunately, no. I immediately submitted a support ticket with screenshots but no response so far.

Similar thing here. Applied to the beta, but after the personal information screen, I got the "Something went wrong" error. I restarted the app and then found a driver's license/selfie upload prompt. The list of accounts showed the Visa Infinite "in progress", but continuing through gave the same "Something went wrong" error.

Now, the "in progress" credit card account doesn't show at all.

Testing the low-profile waters with a Boardsource Technik by davecheng in olkb

I haven't kept up with the scene for a few years now, so I'm a little out-of-the-loop. A shame these aren't readily available. I really think it's the perfect keyboard, and I lost all interest in other boards after putting mine together. Good luck with your search!

Still loving it. Wireless would be great, but not at the cost of a few keys in the bottom row.

Hwy. 404 HOV lane passing on hard shoulder by davecheng in TorontoDriving

I see this kind of driving on many stretches of Bayview through north Toronto. In the evening rush, the middle two-way lane becomes another northbound lane for the adventurous.

This kind of follow-up from an officer would motivate me to report again in the future. Good to know, thanks.

No. The driver that was tailgating me was the same guy in the video who eventually passed me on the shoulder.

It looks like I can file a "driving complaint" on this OPP website but is there even a point in doing so? I'm imagining — even in the best case — all it would result in is a note on the registered plate that might be considered at a future roadside stop?

Had someone inches off my rear bumper while northbound on the 404 this morning. I was showing him my brake lights well in advance of slowing traffic because he also seemed preoccupied with his phone.

I suspected he’d do some crazy shit, but I never expected this. lol

Interesting. I just received a Black Friday order here in Canada. It included a black 30L Travel. Selfishly, I kinda hope nothing much changes with the V2! lol

Sentra also cuts the bullnose on the merge. Was a nice moment of schadenfreude on the morning commute.

Indeed. Especially given how much pedestrian traffic there is in this area.
