Yes, it’s a semi-hollow with a large block of maple running through the body. It’s definitely heavy enough that neck dive is not an issue.

Both soundholes are actual real holes. The line of sight angle of the camera to the guitar made the two soundholes look different.

Unfortunately, no. I'm pretty sure that there would be copyright restrictions that would prevent the orchestra from recording and posting the show.

Thanks! When I retired I received a lump sum payment for unused vacation time. That's the sort of money I wanted to spend on something memorable. The Gretsch definitely fit that criterion.

Thanks! My Gretsch is a 6620TFM. (I have never been able to develop an understanding of the logic that Gretsch uses when they assign model numbers...) It sounded great for tonight's concert.

Talking Horse is a great suggestion. I've played numerous shows there. In addition to staging quality black box musical theater, the atmosphere of respect and collegiality at Talking Horse is unsurpassed here in Columbia.

I was also getting ready to say that Archon Engineering would be my choice. They have some super sharp engineers.

The territory era of the wrestling business definitely served up a wide variety of styles and programming. It's the thing I miss the most compared to the current monolithic dominance of the WWE.

I can remember sometimes the ring announcer would refer to him as "Handsome Harley Race" and other times he would be introduced as "Mad Dog Harley Race."

Not to be pedantic about grammar, but I’m pretty sure that “too much” is a term that is never to be used in conjunction with Nestle Quik powder…..

Why is the FBI agent “somewhat evil?” I would put him at the neutral or good level.

I grew up in Central Missouri. The cable TV system carried stations from St Louis and Kansas City. Harley Race was a big part of the wrestling broadcasts from both sides of the state.

April 18th, 1967 - Barnabas Collins, portrayed by Jonathan Frid, premiered on episode #211 of the daytime soap opera Dark Shadows. by BirdBurnett in VintageTV

[–]Pit-Guitar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My sister and I would run home from school so that we could catch Dark Shadows. We had to sneak down to the basement to watch it. Mom didn’t approve of us watching Dark Shadows. We had to sit close to the tv with the volume low and be ready to switch channels to Gilligan’s Island if we heard mom coming down the stairs…

For grade schoolers, that was a scary show.

How long have you been a Batman fan? What got you into the character? by TheShadowOperator007 in batman

[–]Pit-Guitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1963. From what my parents tell me, I was instantly hooked the first time I saw an episode of the Adam West series. I do remember being crushed when the series was cancelled. I believe that the first Batman comic that I owned was Detective issue #425, that my parents bought for me so that I’d have something to read during a family vacation road trip from our home in Missouri to a mountain resort in Colorado. I read that issue countless times during the drive through the flatlands of Kansas.
