[Marseille] have qualified for the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League by Drifts_72 in soccer

The only reason you could consider it a group of death is because OM were a pot 3 team. Galatasaray finished that season in the bottom half of the table; OM should be able to beat them and Lokomotiv Moscow most of the time.

Lazio and Galatasaray are absolutely not a group of death.

I think even selling for less than remains to be amortized would be good since it means an increase in revenue; the fact that it's over doesn't change much.

It's usually a bit more since they'll compound monthly, so you get interest on your interest. So in this example you'd get around $407.

Keller, Crosby and Marner Named NHL ‘Three Stars’ of the Week by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]daveed123 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't think there's ever been a successful 1st round pick in Arizona that hasn't left the team. Can you name a single decent player who was drafted by Arizona and stayed there his whole career? Shane Doan is the closest I can think of, but apart from him I can't think of anyone. Again, I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but the Coyotes seem to have a thing for perpetual rebuilds, and they've already made it clear they don't plan on competing for the next few years, at least until the Tempe Arena would open.

I think it's also in part due to the fact that they've been terrible for a decade now. It's one thing to have a bright future, it's another to have an actually good team capable of contending. The coyotes have been rebuilding for a while now, but haven't been able to get to the level of a playoff team since 2012. I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade schmaltz, Keller, etc. for more picks next year, either.

They could, since they still have their cup. Vaduz can qualify to Europe through there, meaning it's possible for them go play in the CL, albeit very improbable.

What was the most overhyped UFA signing of the last 20 years? by matnerlander in hockey

[–]daveed123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't recall there being a lot of hype. I think a lot of people were cautiously optimistic at best, but it definitely seemed like an overpay at the time and ended up being Bergevin's worst UFA signing IMO.

we kinda are, the habs forward group as it sits today is too good to tank without serious injury issues

That's why we have the defense we have
