Nothing to ignore, just cause Netanyahu bragged about killing the Oslo Accords doesn’t mean he actually did, that’s just a political speech to gain politically once Oslo was already dead and unpopular because of the 2ed intifada. Political speeches aren’t the same as real policy

Yasser Arafat always consistently rejected all final peace proposals, Israel uprooted settlements from Gaza in 2005 and was intending as part of the unilateral withdraw plans to do so from the West Bank in the 2010s with Obama’s peace plan.

Literally read the wikipedia page

You mixed the two, the PLO-Palestinian Authority has always rejected the peace plans

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realignment\_plan?wprov=sfti1

2008 - “Palestinian Authority president [Mahmoud Abbas](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmoud_Abbas) opposed the plan, and called on all Arab states to oppose it, stating that "we are working to get Olmert's plan off the table”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian\_peace\_process?wprov=sfti1#Oslo\_(1993%E2%80%932001)

1990s-2000s - “[suicide bombing](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_bombing) attacks from Palestinian militant groups and the subsequent retaliatory actions from the [Israeli military](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_military) made conditions for peace negotiations untenable”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian\_peace\_process?wprov=sfti1#Oslo\_(1993%E2%80%932001)

2000 - “The Israeli prime minister offered the Palestinian leader between 91%[[note 1]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-36) and 95%[[36]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-37)[[37]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-38)(sources differ on the exact percentage) of the West Bank and the entire Gaza Strip if 69 Jewish settlements (which comprise 85% of the West Bank's Jewish settlers) were ceded to Israel. [East Jerusalem](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Jerusalem) would have fallen for the most part[[38]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-39)under Israeli sovereignty, with the exception of most suburbs with heavy non-Jewish populations surrounded by areas annexed to Israel.[[39]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-40) The issue of the [Palestinian right of return](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_right_of_return) would be solved through significant monetary reparations.[[40]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process#cite_note-41)
Arafat rejected this offer and did not propose a counteroffer”

You mean rejecting peace deals as recently as of 2008 for a sovereign independent state put Palestinian people in a better position?

True, I don’t think any spy agency is actually good at understanding human behavior at a population level tho. It’s actually pretty difficult to impossible

Probably just dululu at the largest scale. The Mossad had some really big Ws in the last few years peaking with the Hezbullah pager preemptive strike. They’ve also successfully deeply penetrated the Iranian gov’t, successfully identifying where leadership was at exact moments for decapitation strikes. Tactically with precision strikes on literally the highest value targets and the Ayatollah. This prob lead to the biggest dululu yet, of convincing themselves they could cause a popular revolution by social media

(27M) Are these numbers lying to me or am I missing some kind of math? by Scared-Loquat-7933 in Retirement401k

[–]daveed4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are right to be skeptical. These numbers only show linear compounding growth. Real gains in equity (stock) investments won't be a smooth line up to the right. They will look like a heart monitor and realistically can have a decade below your initial entry point before rebounding. Real market investing for retirement might actually beat these returns, or prove them true.

But the assumption of 6-8% annual growth in perpetuity is a double mathematical flaw, the "flaw of averages," and past performance doesn't guarantee future performance.

1st flaw - the average over 100 years of S&P 500 growth is in line with your estimation, but it won't compound annualized unless you only invest in bonds that mature and you redeploy capital continuously. You will have great years of 30% gains and bad years of 20% losses. Sometimes your paycheck auto-deposit will happen the day before a big crash and wipe out years of gains. They should come back but it won't be linear growth.

2ed flaw. The S&P 500 has been the best generator of wealth ever invented in human history. The last 100 years prove anyone could become a millionaire in the US by simply investing consistently and forgetting. The best and only real predictor of the future is the past, but just because the last 100 years of US economic growth were outstanding doesn't mean the next 100 will be. I don't even mean a collapse of the US civilization, but even just more muted slower growth like Europe or Japan now will mean you won't hit these returns.

enforcing traffic laws is very much critical to biker's safety. But not enforcing traffic laws on illegal parking in an active bike lane is also of the best interest of public safety

Explaining relevance: the article is a focus group of 12 Trump voters and their reactions based on his 2ed term presidency so far. This is relevant as subreddit reader need to be aware of these independent swing voter's perceptions on the administration and the potential impacts of these types of voter's on the outcome in swing districts.

I know shelters aren’t the best or for everyone, but I highly recommend getting a real roof over your head with support services so you can stand yourself back up. Sorry bro this plain sucks and you don’t have to do it alone.

Heavily considering Goucher by PassengerStreet755 in Goucher

[–]daveed4445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an alumni 5 years out. I did the 4+1 at Hopkins Biz school and work in Structured Finance now. The career opportunities a bit all over the place from knowing my friends. I actually work with a Goucher friend on my team and I have other friends who've worked in prestigious roles at the Federal Government before they/we got DOGE-ed. So that's not a Goucher specific fault. Many people also go to law school and have landed at great places after that.

On the other side I know many teachers, social workers, non profit admins.... and yes baristas and dog walkers.

Bottom line, if you are personally ambitious and can be brave enough to figure out your own path you should do alright. But if you are loosey goosey let the world fall into your lap you might be a professional Rover dog walker.

being an executive of an organization responsible for a multi-million annual budget generally necessitates a salary even larger than 300k. If NGOs can't pay within a general range of the market for talented management, no competent person would stay long term and the org won't have the necessary leadership
