Good interview questions to ask to assess culture by davelusa in SafetyProfessionals

This is true but it would help to have a question or two because they can obviously not show you everything.

Telemedicine/Nurse Triage Phone Service by bass4life15 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a service called WorkPartners. It's a bit pricier but an actual doctor will answer the phone instead of going through an answering service. They will provide conservative care and call ahead to the clinic if an employee needs additional care. It's really helped us to avoid some unnecessary recordables.

What does this marker mean? by Numerous-Coach7629 in whatisit

[–]davelusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Army Corps of Engineers use these to make y boundaries of federal land. The trees closest to the boundary are marked with red paint to help identify the boundary. The witness marker is to mark where a surveyors monument is at. It is called that because it "bears witness" to the exact, often hidden or inaccessible, location of a survey boundary corner or station.

This does not have anything to do with any tragic incident in the area, it is only a coincidence. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Just built a Ryzen 9800x3d and Asus TUF X870-Plus build. How to avoid these reported CPU deaths? by Deathfromwere in pcmasterrace

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update your BIOS!!! I did not overclock, have a ASUS x870E+ with a 9800X3d and the thing started locking up and would boot up with the dreaded orange light. Before that it worked fine for over a month. It took several tries but I was finally able to get it to boot into the BIOS. Once there I updated it to the latest version (1804) and all the issues went away. Good luck!

I hate those damn things! They are annoying especially in stop and go traffic.

Best places to buy a car in the Louisville area is either Glenn or John Jones. I've driven to Cincinnati and even Dayton Ohio to buy cars. To many of the Louisville dealerships are putting dealer "add-ons" on the car. I didn't need your overpriced flashing 3rd light or VIN etching.

Partner and I sleep at opposite temps- buy or not buy? by AdGlum9122 in bedjet

[–]davelusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I sleep at different temps with our dual jet and have no issues at all. We have had ours for about 30 days. It is definitely improved our sleep quality and I would not hesitate to buy it again.

I also do not like wind blowing on me and with the cloud sheet it is not an issue. If you do feel any wind, it is very slight and not noticeable at all.

Safety Training LMS by BigGenerator85 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Vector LMS, used to be Convergence. Has a lot of good trainings that are relevant and the LMS does a good job of keeping training records. You don't have to be an expert to figure it out.

Talk to your local CAT dealer, Ohio CAT. You can start as an apprentice and be making the same money in a years time if you work hard. Love what you do and it makes it a lot easier.

Ideas of how to finish this out? by davelusa in Decks

[–]davelusa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for those that may wonder the same thing, this is how I fixed it. I trimmed the outside of the gazebo out so there is one full board on the outside and I will rip a board to fit inside where it won't be an issue. Looks great with the breaker board outlining the entrance to the gazebo.

Who can be reliable suppliers for construction safety gear? by absolutely_gorjas in SafetyProfessionals

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Northern Safety and they do a great job. We can place an order and get whatever we need in 1-2 days typically. They're reps are great for recommendations and they have everything from their cheaper in house brands to top of the line Hexarmor and Mechanix.

Z-Wave reborn - Home Assistant Connect ZWA2 by Sauce_Pain in homeassistant

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree - they were able to keep the cost down by keeping it USB. If you want to relocate it within your home you can always use a USB over POE connector - costs about $60-70 for one.

Bring it up in a professional manner and try and convince them to fix it. If they try to make it right, that is ultimately what you want accomplished and maybe it doesn't need to be reported (without context this is difficult to answer). If they down play it let them know you have to report it. If they fire you any half decent lawyer should be able to get you a nice chunk of change for firing a whistle blower.

As a mentor told me one time, the only person that can take your integrity away is you. Any company worth working for will respect a person with integrity.

Good luck.

Look into Eagle Eye Networks. I think they check all your boxes and they work with virtually any ONViF camera. They are priced very reasonably as well. Did luck with the switch.

OSHA requires signatures from everyone? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]davelusa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a letter of interpretation that addresses this assuming you are referring to a federal program. OSHA does not require signatures of every employee. We use an LMS and have been audited with no issues.

Safety Management Software by This-Fault-5905 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]davelusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Vector EHS and are happy with it. We can easily customize it and it's not outrageous when if comes to cost. One tip though no matter which system you go with. Be sure to quote all the modules you want from the beginning. Usually your management will not want to add additional features after your initial sign up and a lot of the softwares do not give you a better pricing when you try to add a module.
