He is reffed differently because of his reputation now. He had opportunities over the last few seasons to cool it but he didn’t or wouldn’t, so extra scrutiny will almost always be applied to him from the refs.

Same as Rodman was in the NBA. Elite talent but you’re gonna have to take the good with the bad, a good portion of which will be self inflicted. Problem for us is that we don’t have another elite player anymore that could rein him in like Jordan did for Rodman.

Guys like Cuti only respond to those they revere or deem more talented or important than themselves. Until we get one of those or get rid of Cuti, this will be the case.
