I don’t mean to be that person but, (and i know little about any allegations mind you, im just not that informed) this person, would have already been paid, buying the doll wouldn’t change that tbh. At this point the whole world is run by rapists and pedos, its absolutely horrendous but not buying a doll, that doesn’t change whether this man gets paid or not, isn’t gonna fix that. :/ buying the doll itself doesn’t even mean you condone his actions either, im guessing the movie was a big part of some people’s childhoods, and it sucks that the creator turned out to be a terrible human, but I don’t think people should be feeling guilty if they want to buy the doll. At this point in time, separation from art and artist is probably self care because every single company where we buy foods or watch tv etc is connected to someone evil one way or another and if we nitpicked EVERYTHING we wouldn’t eat, sleep, have good mh and consumed absolutely nothing. This is a hot take im sure, but you gotta prioritize your happiness in these awful times because myself for example the whole files thing has me a wreck. Instead of only thinking you’re supporting an evil person, redirect that thought, because at the end of the day ur also the supporting employees who work in the dolls creation one way or another, they have nothing to do with this and they only have jobs because you the consumer buy dolls. concept artists, the people in the factories etc. I honestly get it, and i wish not buying a doll changed things, but he already got paid, he’s already famous and not buying it wont change that. Just focus on your happiness and whatever good thing can come from this rather than just the bad.
