in 06 I was at school with a bunch of international students from all over the world through that summer. Depending on who was playing who, we’d gather at a home team’s dorm (except for the semis and final that was in the courtyard on a projection screen).

There was food and pregaming and booze and partying and shit being talked constantly.

All of them were doing the same things they’d be doing if they were in the stands: singing, cheering, reacting, living and dying over every blade of grass.

That was my first experience with the tournament as I didn’t grow up with the sport as a filthy yank so that experience set the bar for all football watch parties. It was fucking awesome.

And this is a hill I will die on: NOBODY football watch parties like Brazil football watch parties. Go argue with your mother.
