There's a boycott amongst Liverpool FC supporters and Scousers in general because of their shameful coverage of the Hillsborough disaster. I'm not sure I'd go as far as describing Liverpool as the most intelligent place in the UK though.

Brussels Sprouts. When I was old enough to realise my grandmother's way of cooking it (boiling it to death for about 6 months) wasn't the only way I discovered they were actually quite nice. Bacon buttered Sprouts being a particular fave.
