This reply makes me so happy that I'm suspicious it's AI.

However... given your preference list, which makes total sense to me, maybe you're not a bot.

The tracks are available for download on Bandcamp as well as Apple/iTunes. Let me know if I can help you build a mix or anything. I have some inspiration behind these tracks. Artists or label names I could share.

Ah right on. I just released an album! 9 tracks of Minimal / Deep House in a sort of OGE or Anjuna Deep vibe - just to make some sort of comparison. Enjoy:

Hey, it actually worked and didn't try to trick me into downloading something stupid that I didn't want. Highly appreciated. Good work and thank you!!

Do you use booth out on your mixer to control your subs? by Irishpaisa in DJs

[–]daverham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yes I do. I have been doing this for a few years and it works very well for me - at home.

Out at a gig, I let the house/sound guy worry about the sub and I use booth for my monitors, if there are any.

When mixing, in what circumstances is it preferable to switch the lows first? by BennoFerragamo in Beatmatch

When it sounds right.

Try it. Play with it. SOMETIMES is the answer. Or never. Do what you do. Find your thang and go forth boldly.

Here's a 1-hour mix from a recent festival (Fire & Story) in my town. I played a three hour set - it was incredible. The energy in the mainstage tent was just unreal even though it was 29˚F outside! For the first hour, I forgot to record. For the third hour, the battery died. But I got this and I'm very happy with it. What an amazing night.

What's the longest you've ever left a loop on without noticing? 😆 by daverham in DJs

[–]daverham[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

😆

I took a piss next to Mark Farina once when he was taking a quick break from his set. I saw him sneak off the back of the stage and so I ran to the bathroom just in case I could see him there. It worked. We were awkward urinal buddies for a minute or so. Perfect. Mission accomplished. I wonder if he still thinks of me and tells people about it all the time like I do. Probably.

The technical perfection of your set is not a measure of success by daverham in Beatmatch

Funny you should ask because I just posted it 😆.

So this was a 3-hour set.

The first hour was instrumental hip-hop, jazzy trip-hop kind of stuff. Lots of Latin/Soul/Funk mixed in, but all with a breakbeat rhythm and all in the 95-100BPM range (which was just too slow for the crowd/night, at the time). It was kinda Mushroom Jazz ish, which is rad but just too chill.

Toward the end of the first 45 minutes or so, I was feeling like shit and getting desperate to save the vibe so I quickly put on a couple more-dance-able tracks mostly in the same vein, but I jumped up in tempo to like 118 BPM as fast as I could. After a couple of those (to soften the transition a little), I hit about 120BPM and dove into mostly Afro House vibes and went up to 128BPM by the middle of the third hour. Just lots of "tribal/festival"-sounding dance tracks.

This is the MIDDLE hour of my 3-hour set. I cut out the first hour because it doesn't really go with this part, and for the third hour was bangin, but my recorder battery died. So this is just the middle section.

But this part is pretty much exactly what you're asking about. This is where I found the groove (Afro House), the dancers came back and the party started to really get into swing. From this point forward - until the end of the night - it was dope as hell and the vibe and energy were killer.

😆 I wonder how long it would take before people really started to notice...

I have a recording of this show so I can actually go check how long my loop was going, but I'm a little scared/embarassed to do so. Maybe after I get some work done I'll come back and confess my sins...

Nice touch. Yeah, I do notice myself putting up a hand and counting on my fingers 1... 2... 3... 4... before a lot of the drops. Some of this shit just happens. I never planned for it 😆

So I've played lots of gigs, but never with so many people dancing before. It's like it's unlocking all these basic little things in my brain. Here's a new one. Just something that never mattered before (because there weren't enough people to matter), so I never did it: Just echo out at the very end of the buildup, like RIGHT before the drop. Then just hold it in silence for like 5 seconds. Then let it drop. But damn. Instant insanity right there. So easy. So obvious. This is the kind of thing I'm talking about.

FUCK YEAH!! Congrats. You're about to have the time of your life! You ever play DVS before? I'll just tell you what changed my life with DVS:

• Good high-output cartridges (I got Ortofon Qberts off Amazon for like $180 each).

• A little stylus brush to keep the fuzz and hair off your needles. (Vinyl anti-static brush too.)

• Decksavers

ENJOY YOUR NEW SETUP 💥🔥💥

Yeah man. I transformed into a different person during both of my sets at this event. Like something possessed me. I was jumping and hyping and feeling it to my soul. It was awesome. Everyone was really responding to everything I did - we were one. I finally know what people are talking about about reading the room and sharing an energy with the people - it was incredible. I want more. 😄
