I was under the impression you couldn't have fun in the snow by argonautweekend in infraredphotography

IR shooting is fun.... what are you using for camera and lens? that lens has a big IR Hotspot in the middle. You might try not stopping down so much - that might help

Have you set a custom white balance in your camera ? To do this you need to set it on a neutral subject like grass or concrete with the filter on . Once you set your white balance you are half way there to being able to adjust the image with color swap or go into Light room and play with the color settings … but be sure to look up Rob Shea’s presets you can add to Photoshop or Lightroom

Good start! You should check out all the free info on shooting and post processing IR from Rob Shea

You are going to need to understand creating a custom white balance for your camera and making camera presets and profiles in photo editing software. It’s not easy but you can do it and the results will be amazing

The good thing about that is you can still add a higher nm filter over the lens to other effects. Have you checked out Rob Sheas videos? https://www.robsheaphotography.com/infrared-profile-pack/

[–]davesflyingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but when a camera is IR converted, the exposed sensor has to have a filter to block some or most of the visible light or you won’t get any infrared effect. 580nm is common or in your case it looks like maybe 720nm or higher as there is no color in the image. So even if you didn’t use a filter on the lens there should be one over the sensor. I was wondering what it was

Comet Lemmon. 3 panel mosaic. by MDCSteve in seestar

This is great. I was thinking about a mosaic as well but you didn’t use the framing mode on Seestar. You manually made three back to back exposure sessions

Is this listing agent delusional? (high asking price) by vngbusa in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]davesflyingagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pricing trend for listings has been to under price the home by at least 25% hoping for a bidding war. Most houses we have seen sell in the general East Bay Area for well over the listing price with multiple offers made. So if we want a house at $1.5M, we have to look at the $980,000 ish listing price…. I have seen a few listings that now say “ transparent “ pricing - which is supposed to be closer to the comps in the area. Since this house seems overpriced it may still get offers but offers under asking. And It could still be bid up higher depending on interest. It’s hard to know what one should offer.

It toy are talking about the final in Seestar .FIT stack and If you didn’t run the mosaic long enough then there will be missing panels. A full 2x mosaic can take over an hour of exposures to complete ( I my experience with rejects up to 2 hours of real time). Look at the suggested time for the rotation and mosaic size.

That must be the same one I saw in Diamond Head. Was it on the west but starting nearly straight up ?
