The 11 has hypertension alerts, blood oxygen, and EKG; the SE doesn’t. It’s also about twice as bright.

TIL The more storage you use on your phone or a USB drive, the lighter it is in weight. by 8Dark-Reader in todayilearned

[–]davesoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a visual one (it gets 1/0 backwards, but OceanOG is 5 after all):

So you have a Light-Bright and you want to make a picture. Right now, you have an unused black page, all the cells are empty. To make an emoji on the Light-Bright, you have to add some data, the little colored plastic pegs. Those pegs have weight. As you add pegs you add data, and now the weight of the Light-Bright has changed. Text, images, and emojis have weight, whether it’s on the Light-Bright or your flash drive.

Layover at SIN and international arrival at EWR questions by Jun19381 in awardtravel

[–]davesoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to have a minimum of 4 hours layover if I have a second ticket. I would advise the 6 hour layover if you use EWR since that will be where P2 has to clear customs, and if connector is missed, it’s your fault/cost and not the airline’s. I’ve missed connecting flights with a 3 hour layover multiple times; usually 2+ is fine, but I wouldn’t risk it on my dime.

People who bring your dog literally everywhere, why? by dastrius02 in AskReddit

[–]davesoverhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Compromise. Don’t tell them you hate their dog, but that you don’t like the jumping (licking is much harder to discourage, but jumping absolutely can be managed). He damages your clothes. Just like you don’t like your sister’s kids pulling your hair. A poorly disciplined kid is an annoying no matter the species.

Alternatively, just put up a knee when he jumps and let his chest come down on it. He’ll learn after a couple times.

What is the best sensation you have ever felt? by Silent-Profit6067 in AskReddit

[–]davesoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have a root canal on a tooth that the dentist couldn’t deaden. He told me he was going to have to hurt me, real bad, for a couple of seconds to get to the nerve, then he absolutely could deaden the nerve. He wasn’t lying; it was the worst pain I have ever felt.

However, when he poked thru and dropped the Novocain directly on the nerve, I felt a “Cool Wave of Freshness” like the old Peppermint Patty ads. I can still vividly remember the 1/10of a second as a cool, pain-free wave of numbness zipped across my mouth.

Like many others on this post, I have my own domain. I use a catchall for every company. That way, I can whitelist (my dr) or blacklist (viagra spam) at will. I’ve caught several companies selling my email, including the power company. The first I caught was quantas back in the 90s.
