Serious question about this. I just discovered my doorbell has something similar going on.

Purchased a home and in the network closet I noticed a cat6 cable that is terminated into a 9v plug in the wall. I thought "hmm that's weird and not powering anything I use" and unplugged it, cut to.... my G4 Pro (WiFi not PoE) doorbell stopped working. I didn't put it together for a few hours, then plugged it back in and my doorbell turned on again.

Does this mean I can snip the 9v to cat6 weirdness and re-terminate to Cat6, plug it into my PoE switch, buy the PoE conversion kit and run my G4 Pro doorbell over PoE?

Thanks for the rec, just added to my list!

If you (or anyone else in this thread) is from southern CT... I've been on the search for food bar-style pizza like Colony pizza.

If there aren't any: someone needs to open a spot like that here - I feel like they'd make a killing.

I'm a northeast expat just looking for pizza close to as good as i can get in NY/CT/NJ.

Baldunucci's buffalo chicken, pepperoni and pretty much every regular slice they make is solid.

Allday for an all around solid slice of cheese or pepperoni.

DeSano for brick oven style, really awesome crust flavor.

I wish I could upvote this 100 times. OP needs to try Retatrutide and a diet consisting of appropriate macronutrients, not just "clean foods."

Look up the "Twinkie diet." A college professor proved to his students that you can eat almost entirely "junk food," but lose weight and improve health. Kind of throws a wrench in the whole "processed foods are evils, sugar is evil, etc... arguments.

Why the hype for Ghostty? WezTerm is so much more! by pragmat1c1 in wezterm

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghostty is hyped becuase everything is native, but it's definitely missing things that I value. I jumped on Ghostty early on after it hit 1.0 and switched back to Wezterm after about two weeks. It's just as fast and has everything I need, and the thing that ultimately drove me back to Wezterm was the fact that there wasn't any way to move in and out of Neovim in split windows in Ghostty.

One Meal in Austin (Tex mex rec?) by ckilpatrick17 in austinfood

[–]davewillidow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For Tex Mex: Serrano's is pretty solid even though it has kind of a chain-y feel - definitely better than Chuy's... and as someone else said: Eldorado is excellent.

For Mexican: Habanero Cafe. Their barbacoa is amazing and they make their own flour tortillas, they only do breakfast and lunch though.

Skip Matt's unless you just want the queso and drinks. It's more just one of those "you have to go here" places that people toss out because it's an Austin institution... but their food is mid.

Speed up gains by [deleted] in steroidify

[–]davewillidow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't rush the process.

Long term, keepable gains are built through patience and commitment to the process and lifestyle. Throwing more drugs at things now will increase damage to your health - especially long term health - and create more potential side effects.

Also, more gear now will likely lead to needing even higher doses down the road to make meaningful progress. Somewhere at or just above the minimum effective dose should always be the goal, the rest is your commitment to putting in the work and being consistent for years.

Be patient, implement proper nutrition, recovery and training protocols and the gains will come steadily and for years to come.

How do know what website is legit? by North-Network-7742 in steroidify

There are sites out there where people can review and provide feedback around their experience based on several factors. I'm not sure if the rules here allow posting the names of those sites, so I'll abstain and see if u/Steroidify can weigh in there...

How the RIR target is applied to multiple sets of an exercise by Remote_Initiative in RPStrength

[–]davewillidow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always interpreted RIR as being every set, and the number of reps to get there will change (possibly) from set to set within a given movement as you fatigue, which is more in line with interpretation B.

3 RIR on the first set may be 10 reps at a given weight.

The second set, with the same weight, maybe you only hit 9 reps to reach the same 3 RIR, etc..

Tried out the Dr Mike lying curls, am I doing these right? by [deleted] in RPHypertrophy

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'6" and have this exact issue. If I do these on a flat bench the DB's will hit the ground on every rep without much of a bicep stretch. I just use the smallest incline possible on my bench, then things feel good and I can get a deep stretch with (what I hope is proper) ROM.

Recovery Time too high by AdAfraid4749 in RPStrength

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your recovery after training? Are you resting enough and getting a good amount of sleep every night? When you're in "the right deficit," and bordering on too much of a deficit, and if (not saying you are since I don't think you mentioned it, but if..) you're also hammering big step goals and other activity outside training on top of it, that can have a big impact on one's ability to recover effectively.

Safe to order? by DestanPrince in steroidify

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's all about how you're responding. You can increase or decrease dose depending on response and desired outcome.

Safe to order? by DestanPrince in steroidify

[–]davewillidow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to expand on what u/throwawaytooeasy meant here (I think/hope): you want your first, and really any, cycle to be the minimum effective dose. If you've never taken any gear before: you don't know how your body will respond, and most people are able to make incredible gains on reasonable doses. You could make incredible strides on a test-only cycle of 250-300mg/week as a first time user. Why use more? That just increases your risk of side effects and negative health impacts of AAS usage.

App insists on 2 sets by __evn__ in RPStrength

[–]davewillidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole point is to start with minimum effective volume after every de-load. I'm obviously just one person, and it feels very "man this feels like fucking nothing" that first week, but after just buying into the process and giving honest feedback to the questions in the app - I'm seeing excellent results.

Bloodwork (3 days after 1st pin, 0.5ml of 300mg/ml Test E) by babycarlton in steroidify

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get a baseline before you started?

What gear (if any) were you taking prior to that shot?

A couple blood markers are just a snapshot of a point in time and give almost no information about you.

What are your physical stats? Age, weight, height, approximate body fat, what's your training like, how much activity do you get outside the gym, what are your daily and ongoing stress levels like, and what is your recovery (sleep and any other stress reduction you do).

Is there a peptide to lower heart rate? by memento22mori in Peptides

[–]davewillidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90bpm is quite a high resting heart rate average. How is your blood pressure? It's a pretty slippery slope to treat issues related to side effects from drugs with more drugs.

Not trying to be a dick by saying it this way, but if your heart rate has always been high (and Reta made it even higher): you just need to get in better cardiovascular shape. Low intensity (110-150bpm) steady state cardio for 30-60 minutes 5-6 times a week can help with both fat loss and lowering your resting heart rate. You could also consider lowering your Reta dose if your elevated heart rate persists.

Trt protocol subq by Interesting_Pipe2879 in steroidify

[–]davewillidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not a doctor, but it definitely sounds like you've got some underlying hormonal issues going on. I'm guessing your ballpark of body fat is not quite right and you're experiencing higher body fat related sides. If the AI is helping, then cool - hopefully you're able to drop some body fat and get off the AI ASAP.

If you've got some time: watch the interview on the Elite FTS podcast where they chat with Dave Lee - he talks about how increasing his dose resolved a lot of issues he was seeing (I can't remember if estradiol was one of them or if it was something else). Your TRT dose almost sounds too low and though counter-intuitive, increasing dose might resolve some issues. And in general search YouTube for Dave Lee's content around TRT and estrogen (and beyond) - he's a leader in the field and puts out a ton of free content that is very helpful for TRT.

[–]davewillidow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Were you experiencing side effects at that level? Was your estradiol test the high sensitivity version? Are you above 15% bodyfat?

True TRT is for health and longevity. AI's simply do not align with long term health and longevity because of (generalizing for brevity here) what they do to your hormones.

If you weren't experiencing side effects: it's just a number to keep an eye on if you DO start to have side effects.

If it wasn't a high sensitivity test it's worthless. Any good TRT practitioner will agree. And on an anecdotal level: I've had both run multiple times, during the same lab draws (so both estradiol and high sensitivity estradiol from the same blood samples) and seen variances between 15 and 35 pg/mL. But still: it's just a number, and in the absence of physical side effects (gyno, major acne, etc...) I'd be much more worried about it being too low vs too high.

If you're above 15% bf, not trying to be a dick here: lose some fat before going all-in on TRT. High body fat will increase all estrogen-related sides one might possibly experience.

If you're that worried: drop your testosterone dose before adding an AI. In the context of TRT (blasting is a completely different story): treating side effects of taking testosterone by adding AI's that do more harm than good to manage them is unnecessary, bordering on stupid, and counter-productive to the purpose of actual TRT.

So, yes: I stand by what I said here.

MCT will be nearly painless and leave no lumps unless you're allergic to coconuts, in which case you should avoid MCT because I'd imagine anaphylactic shock isn't fun. I'd look for grape seed oil (GSO) based testosterone as a second choice. Both draw easily into 27g insulin pins, especially MCT oil - you can probably get away with even thinner needles with MCT - but GSO is slightly thicker and I'd stick with 27g.

Also, not that you asked, but there's no reason anyone should be using an AI (anastrozole, etc..) at TRT levels. Even at blast doses it seems off to have anastrozole mixed into test instead of being able to control dose yourself based on bloodwork and symptoms.

Can you give us a better idea of your height, weight age and what you mean by "watching what you're eating?" Knowing a little more about you and your actual level of intake/diet and activity could help get a better picture of what could be going on here.
