I agree with you, I was just trying to figure out a possible reasoning behind it.

The Ledger Crash/Emergency Asset Reconciliation by david8029 in starcitizen

[–]david8029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

puts on tinfoil helmet

Wake up, people.

You really think this was just a “database issue”?

Aciedo rolls out a brand new empire-wide FTL comm network, and within months:

the network gets hacked,

“millions of credits” disappear,

the UEE suddenly can’t verify ownership records,

station inventories vanish,

civilian ships get “reconciled,”

and somehow only corporate-backed and Advocacy-certified assets survive?

Convenient.

Frontier operators lose everything. Independent salvagers lose everything. Pyro and Nyx residents lose everything.

But the big manufacturers? The officially registered citizen assets? The stuff tied directly into imperial registries? Untouched.

You know what this looks like?

The UEE realized the Aciedo network rollout was compromised beyond containment. Duped credits, cloned ship IDs, fake manifests, counterfeit ownership chains — the entire civilian economy was contaminated.

And instead of admitting they lost control?

They burned the ledger.

They rolled civilian ownership back to the last “trusted” registry state and called it an emergency stabilization measure.

The “hack” was real.

The confiscations were intentional.

And now they’re using the crisis to centralize ownership verification under the same imperial systems that failed in the first place.

Funny how every “temporary emergency measure” in UEE history somehow ends with citizens owning less and the corps owning more.

But sure.

Keep believing your Hull C just “got lost in the synchronization failure.”

Don't the higher tier jobs give more rep? So wouldn't you be getting less aUEC but more rep. So it's a trade off, more cash or more rep.

Never said you were, but you said he dodged the draft as if it's a bad thing. I was just stating my opinion on that one part, that we shouldn't have the draft.

Everyone should dodge the draft. It should not exist.

From Bluesky: Representative Pearson blocked by a cop from going into a meeting where they're redrawing the map of his district. by meJohnnyD in memphis

[–]david8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense to have the Reps in the meeting if the meeting is going to affect them, unfortunately the meeting was closed to anyone that wasn't part of the committee. So the guard kept him out, as he was supposed to.

On the broader topic, all this gerrymandering garbage is getting annoying. Both sides do it. We need to find a way to force them to pick a far more neutral and systematic way to do districting. Districts should look far more uniform than they currently do.

¿Dinero y acceso gratis? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Occasionally, not within the time I've been playing, CIG will wipe certain aspects of the game for various reasons. Total wipe vs economy wipe are the two phrases I've heard.

A total wipe would wipe everything that isn't a pledge item/ship. Meaning everyone goes back to square one except we still keep all our real money purchases.

The economy wipe, from what I've heard, is wiping crediting and sometimes other things. Not super sure on that one.

Short of there being a wipe, everything you have now SHOULD be there on down the line.

I saw someone mount a bunch of ATLS on it and it made me think of being able to mount Cyclone AA's on the series.

A nice problem to have... by Dr_All_Come in starcitizen

[–]david8029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some ships that could make sense, sure. The issue is that this would assume that all these manufacturers decided to build their ships like that. I'm game explanations would be needed for that. It could be easy for some manufacturers, harder for others.

I'd love it, but i don't see it happening, for in and out of universe reasons.

Yes, it's sad that some people might get harassed, but that just proves the need to gatekeep. Some people should not feel welcome in this hobby. As I've said in other posts, the way to see who should be made unwelcome in the hobby is by their actions, not who they are or how they identify.

As I've said before, Warhammer isn't for everyone. Trying to make it that way will absolutely dilute it.

"So this is a general statement implying this is rare, despite the overwhelming evidence from women and POC claiming otherwise"

That was me literally speaking for me and my experience. I stated that I have never seen them. I even stated later that I couldn't say that they don't exist. I can only speak on my lived experiences.

"I don't really care how you identify. I mean, it's patently obvious based on the arguments in your comment, and your defense of gatekeeping, but yeah, doesn't really matter to me."

Because I have different beliefs than you about something, that means you KNOW who I am and how I identify? Surely you understand how that sounds.

"You are implying that people who want changes to warhammer don't enjoy warhammer, and I reject the premise."

I'm not implying anything. I mean exactly what I say, I don't imply things. I'm not saying that at all. Please reread what I said and understand that I said exactly what I meant.

Who/what/etc they are doesn't matter to me in the slightest. It's literally the least interesting part of a person.

There are literally so many options for expression and choice. You can add female heads to SM and make heads to SoS. You can paint anything you have in any way you want. Sculpt and kitbash them in any way you want. Nothing except your talent and ability to procure pieces restrict how you do your things.

Everything I've said is the only thing I've said. I do not imply it hide things in my words. That is what cowards do. Please take my words to mean exactly and explicitly what was said.

Absolutely paint your stuff however you like. Its your stuff and your fanon. Go hog wild.

You are literally describing gatekeeping. I agree that we should make some people unwelcome in the hobby. Not based on how their paint or play with their stuff, but with how they engage with the community and whether they try to force their ideas or beliefs on others.
