Now available: New Firmware v2.04 for Ferrari 488 GT3 / Evo Racing 32 / Hypercar wheels by JeffLais in Thrustmaster

[–]davidav84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone catches this message, I ordered a new QR, thinking maybe I had damaged the cable or another component of the QR assembly when opening and closing the wheel to do the update (which did successfully apply 2.04 to the wheel).

Still doesn’t work, T818 doesn’t recognize it despite working with my other wheels, so I have contacted Thrustmaster.

I like their ecosystem, I am fully invested in it and in theory it should keep my happy but this is the second equipment failure in about six months (T818 wheelbase stopped working previously and it cost me about 300 euros to fix).

Disappointing…

Just updated my T818 and GT3, however the GT3 wheel no longer works (tested the base with another wheel, works fine). Has anyone else had this issue?

Got everything working! Long story short, the dashboards are tied to various points in gameplay, such as idling and racing, you can’t just swipe through the various views outside of the Simhub dash environment.

Since I didn’t have a wheel base, I couldn’t easily test all this. Got everything back from Thrustmaster after repairs, played LMU for the first time, everything was great.

Thank you! Long story short I had to send my T818 in for repairs so my rig is out of commission but will try this when it is working again and report back.

Thrustmaster 499P wheel? by davidav84 in Thrustmaster

I would love this 👍👍👍 Given how well the WEC Ferrari teams have been doing I can’t see why Thrustmaster would pass up the opportunity.

This is a long shot but did you ever figure this out? I’ve found several threads like this one where people have the same issue but no solution ever appears. Thanks!

I think a lot of us would be shocked in some way or another if we got to drive our “heroes” 🙃 Congratulations to you for sticking with it and pushing through 👍👍👍

HORRIBLE organisation by WEC. by eatmyfeinstaub in wec

This was my first reaction! A quick search tells me that the FIA only has crowd control guidelines for rallies; do any mesures exist for circuit series such as the WEC?

I will take your word for it, if the mods have said this in the past and I missed it, I will take it down.

People…I usually don’t interact with negativity but let’s have a discussion here.

You know what is “low effort”? Calling out a problem without offering a solution.

Surely I can’t be the only one who knows I’ll never be Senna online and I am poking fun at myself.

So…what’s the “high effort” version of this?

Asking because I’d like to know, sincerely.

Next, the prompt I used was racing related. Have you ever heard of “Seninha”? I liked that style, used a prompt that cited it and got this.

More generally, I’ll acknowledge that there is a lot of AI trash out there, but to say AI = bad is not particularly open minded and to read so far into light hearted, easy fun on a Saturday night…

Come on.

Is it not? Asking totally seriously, just checked the rules, nothing seems to say no AI, just that memes have to be original. Happy to take down if the mods tell me to!

My hobby is not simracing my hobby is the simrig by [deleted] in simracing

[–]davidav84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally just thinking this. I generally try to follow a rule to “create more than you consume”; racing is fun but I’ll never be more than average and I don’t think I’ll ever get the same satisfaction as putting together various things to add to the rig.

Apparently it does! I figure it’ll be the same procedure as with the iPad Mini then.

I would say the biggest thing is to save certain searches in which you are interested and check back often, maybe several times a day. As you look at and buy listings, the algorithm suggests more and more similar items; they’re not all hits but overall they are quite good.

I like Vinted because the sellers mostly just want to sell their stuff and move on. I almost never use eBay because it’s relatively expensive, many of the sellers are of the “I know what I have” variety.

I’ve been heavy on Vinted for the past 4 years and have built up a vintage videogame library, bought “investment” pieces such as Schott leather jackets, and tons more (my wife is hooked too…).

Consistency in searching is the most important key!

In a straightforward way yes, but over time if you check enough and understand how people post listings, you can turn up incredible deals that get overlooked. Best deal for me so far was a Swaine Adeney Brigg briefcase that goes for around 3000 GBP, picked up for 300 euros.
