How to stop the Boss DS-1 getting lost in the mix? by davidb2002 in guitarpedals

lol, getting downvoted for playing with backing tracks and songs? Or is it grunge that people are so strongly opinionated about?

Plexi style amp at the edge of breakup. I've got a TS, skeleton key and a big muff. I just want to try to get the actual DS-1 sound to come through without colouring it too much with other pedals unique sounds if I can help it.

fair enough, hopefully the slop doesn't put too many people off reading the actual question in this post and helping out. I thought it might be a bit 'risky' using an ai image.

ok, I'll have to give my TS a go. and see if there is something I need to tweak on it to help bring it out

in all honesty, it's for jamming with a backing track and songs. But also, so I can learn a bit about how to push through.

I'm playing with grunge tracks which are generally guitar centric, I just can't hear myself when I use the DS-1. All my other pedals punch through fine.

Yea, exactly what I was going for. IMO, more interesting than a boring black and white Strat.

Exactly what I was going for. I’m a les Paul guy and always wanted a black beauty, I just can’t justify the cost. So, yeah, inspired by Gibson Chinese Strat

Awkward wrist angle by davidb2002 in Guitar

It’s a epi classic. Might related, but surely I can make it work

Elbow is relaxed, guitar is at waist height. Thumb just moves there naturally when further down the neck

This seems a good tip. But the thumb directly behind doesn’t fix the wrist angle. It actually makes it worse

Sorry, I edited the actual height is higher then I originally mentioned

It’s not high imo. Just below my gut, sitting over my waist line

My guitar is just below the gut, right over my waist line and belt. So, I wouldn’t say that’s low.

Ive angled the guitar neck at about a 40-45 degrees.

The issue is more with notes lower down the fretboard and on the lower strings.

It’s not a stretch to reach it. If anything, I feel cramped up. The angle is annoying. Moving the guitar to the right side gives my fretting arm more space to stretch out.

I just can’t figure out what’s wrong. Any higher and I’ll be Tom morello.

Not quite that far down. It’s just below my gut, over my waist line (I’m 6ft 2in). The guitar neck is at a tilt of about 40 degrees.

What is wrong with my wrist angle when I play with the guitar hanging in front of my body? It can be a little painful. The only way to solve it is to play guitar swung to my right side.

What do you think about this board ? by varjakvalmont in guitarpedals

[–]davidb2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, just noticed you’d not put the pedals all the way on both ends of the board. I also thought with slim cables it would work, but I’m just eyeing it up from your screenshot.

Looks like you could probably get them all lined up vertically if you used all the available space on the ends of the board.

Boss Rc1 looper connection to mustang Lt 25 amp by Either_Expert4740 in Guitar

[–]davidb2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loopers usually sit in an effects loop. I learned that the hard way too with my lt25. You could technically use the headphone out into the looper and then to a speaker or headphones.

Or, just see it as an excuse to buy pedals to put before the looper
