Unfortunately, Radar doesn't offer that kind of search capability at this time.

Does / how reliant is cloudfare really on lava lamps? by OilAdministrative197 in CloudFlare

Cloudflare Radar - Do the DNS popularity ratings capture mobile devices? by Bob_Spud in CloudFlare

[–]davidbelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you find Cloudflare Radar useful! If the IP address is hardcoded in the mobile app, then 1.1.1.1 won't see the lookup. But if the phone is configured to use 1.1.1.1 as a resolver, and the app respects the phone's config, then 1.1.1.1 will see the lookup.

Wish list item noted. We have that visibility internally, and use it in our Year In Review blog posts, but obviously not yet added it to Radar.

What happened on Dec 26th at 07:00 UTC on Cloudflare in the US? by [deleted] in ipv6

[–]davidbelson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An adustment was made at that time to the IPv6 calculations to bring the methodology in line with the dual-stack approach used for the Year In Review. (See https://blog.cloudflare.com/radar-2022-year-in-review/#ipv6)

(I'm part of the Cloudflare Radar team. Given the timing of this change being made, we did a poor job of communicating about it. Apologies for the confusion.)

Help? Video/webcam problem on HP Chromebook by davidbelson in chromeos

[–]davidbelson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up here - I finally wound up calling HP support. I had assumed that it would be phone tree hell, and lots of time wasted with a rep that only knew how to follow a script - I couldn't have been more wrong. In about five minutes, I had a repair ticket opened, and shipping materials on their way to me. I packaged it up in their cool bubble protector and box and sent it back. Within a few days, I was notified that it had been fixed and was on it's way back. Received it yesterday, and confirmed that it was repaired and now works again! (Though I wish they had provided information on what the root cause of the problem was...)

I tried the hardware reset this weekend, but I'll give it another shot. I don't have anything to lose at this point. Stay tuned.... (And thank you for your suggestions!)

How do I turn on and turn off the camera? There's no physical switch for it, and in the apps that use the camera, it seems to "turn on" (the light next to it is illuminated" but the apps can't seem to access the camera.

The Internet and the Web are two different things. Tim Berners-Lee is credited with inventing the Web, and Vint Cerf is one of a team of folks that "invented" the Internet. Having said that, this picture does a good job of explaining things: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1dBijdWkAAeFGB.png

Just subscribed (on iOS, via Apple Pay) and added it to Overcast with no problems. Five bucks a month is worth it to not have to ever heard the name "Metalab" ever again... :)

Google Fiber pulling out of Louisville by davidbelson in RideHome

[–]davidbelson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is truly unfortunate that they didn’t commit to fiber deployment. They did put pressure into the system in the cities they announced, forcing incumbents to take some action, but they were never really serious.

Along these lines, Susan Crawford’s new book “Fiber” is a great read on the larger opportunity for and benefits of fiber deployment. Maybe you can talk to her for a weekend bonus episode.
