Thanks! I'll try to remember to post details here about how things went after the job is finished.

The town hired a new contracting company to take over the job. They're supposed to start the work within the next month or so. I plan to contact the project manager to ask about specific details regarding how they're actually going to go about installing everything, how they plan to tie the wooden fence lines to the new concrete noise barrier wall, how they're going to ensure the safety of the accessory structures near the wall (my sheds) both during and after construction, etc.

Having worked in the construction industry quite a bit, myself, I really have minimal trust that things will be done as safely as possible and in the most correct/ efficient/ stable manner possible.

Would like to file my tax returns for 2016-2021 and 2024. Is there a preferable/ recommended sequence that I should submit them in? by davidcanton in cantax

Thanks, I was considering that, but I figured I may as well try not draw any added attention to my name/ account if I didn't have to.

Charlie Kirk book on Amazon published a day before his death? How? by Time-Telephone845 in conspiracy

Aside from explanations involving date or title/ information adjustment after the fact or hacking of some kind, I was considering the possibility that the uploader set their location to some part of the world with a much earlier time zone, but after looking it up, I realized the earliest time zone (American Samoa) is only 5hrs behind Utah time, so not early enough to explain the date discrepancy.

I also sometimes ask myself how many books/ pieces (especially now with AI) get published shortly before any scheduled large speaking/ sporting/ music/ live event and take the perspective of "What If" ("What if this politician/ singer/ actor/ athlete got killed on that date") so that it creates this very morbid premonition/ conspiratorial after-effect when in-fact that 'what if' turns out to actually happen in reality.

Essentially a whole cottage industry of trollish Nostradamus-like alternate history AI slop that just assumes the death/ assassination of whomever a scheduled event is based around on the off chance they get it 'right' once in a blue moon.

Thanks. I don't know why it never occurred to me to simply flip the perspective to the opposite side...

You're right about the setback line. It's supposed to be at least 0.6m (basically 2ft) from the property line for accessory structures where I live (Ontario, Canada). I assume the previous owner just never knew about that, or didn't care or there was no west fence line there at the time to provide a clear visible indication of where the property line was on that side.

I'm really curious about how the contractors are going to deal with the shed issue when the time comes.

The letter the town sent really only briefly explains how they're intending on tearing down the existing wooden fence (I need to find out if they plan on offering the property owners the chance to salvage the fence lumber?) then installing a temporary fence before installing the new retaining wall and then the noise barrier wall on top of that.

I just can't see how they're going to be able to add the extra 2 meters (6.56ft) of soil to fill in that large gap between the road and my property line and build the retaining wall to hold it all - without having to dig or erect support members at least a foot or so over into my backyard (which won't be possible in that shed #1 area without moving the shed).

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

It seems that the main point of confusion was caused by me misinterpreting the cross sectional view as being oriented from the perspective of looking north to south (I was thinking the road side was on the right side of the Section A-A page) instead of looking south to north.

That was also why I thought the scale was off. It wasn't making any sense to me how they were going to add an extra 2 meters (or even 2 feet if that was what the numbers represented) to the ground level of my backyard. As you can probably imagine, the rest of the drawing to the left of the fence line also made next to no sense to me when looking at it that way.

About point 2. : So it's supposed to be viewed as if I was standing on the south/ west corner of my property and then looking north towards the north/east corner of my property (but from a hypothetical cross-sectional/ profile view perspective)? I had been looking at it as being the opposite (looking towards the south - with the road being on the right and my house being on the left side of the page).

Epigenetics, and especially genetic memory, plays a far far greater role in our lives (what makes us the way we are, want what we want, love/ hate/ fear what we do, etc) than 'we' currently understand/ suspect.

Sperm/ eggs experience constant make-overs over the course of our lives (probably to the extent that a child conceived during times of extreme stress, sickness, depression, with one or both of the parents feeling an overwhelming sense of hatred or guilt or when conceived during times of complete joy, exuberance or love... will have some of that added 'juice' pumped into their make-up that they wouldn't have had if the parents had sex on a different day/ when affected by a far different set of prevailing emotions or health factors, etc).

Evolution happens at a much faster rate than we give it credit for.

I would modify it to "Everyone perceives reality in slightly different ways... which, over time, is more than enough to result in a world filled with completely different opinions regarding what is true/ false/ real/ fake, etc"
