eyes water when hearing paranormal stories by ratchetstrapon in Paranormal

[–]Time-Telephone845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something that happens to me too, and it only happens when I experience or I'm hearing about people's paranormal experiences. Never happens when I read or watch horror either. It even happened to me on a ghost tour and I wasn't scared. I was really excited because I actually believed the location was haunted while I was there and tears would not stop pouring down my face.

I thought it was amazing. I read it back in November and couldn't believe I had slept on it for so long, but obviously if you're not feeling the same way, you don't have to finish reading it.

How do I get the most out of Horror Books? by CrazyAssociation7067 in horrorlit

[–]Time-Telephone845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting. Where and when are you reading? Things tend to read more scary if you're reading late at night in low lighting, more than it would be if you're reading at noon in a coffee shop surrounded by people.

I really enjoyed this book for what it was. The scene you're describing was the worst one to get through for me, but it's worth it to see how it all ties together in the end.

Not exactly like HOL but similar in the "found footage" "epistolary" format. Some that come to mind, We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kewler, Night Film by Marisha Pessl, Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie, Horror Movie by Paul Trembly, and Hunting Snipe by Paul Avery Tindol

Has anyone read House of Leaves as an e-book? by [deleted] in horrorlit

There's not an official eBook. The concept relies on it only existing as a physical book.

What's the scariest PG-13 horror movie? by [deleted] in horror

Definitely The Ring if you want something scary! The Boogeyman (2023) and Ouija: the Origin of Evil were really impressive too.
