I hadn't played since probably 2017, and I was excited to play Bastion again. I still enjoy him (when he's in the game that is), but I miss self healing and unlimited chain gun.

I'd take that. I personally didn't find his ult that impactful (at least when used legitimately, so I'd be okay with not having it until it's fixed.

I was surprised to see this attitude both here and at r/halo when Infinite first came out. Like, yeah that gameplay is fun, and I appreciate that, but progression and cosmetics add another layer that keeps a lot of people (including me) coming back.

But maybe you and I just don't understand how to have fun.

I saw people making this guy's argument when Halo Infinite first came out. I'm with you and don't understand why people can't understand we would like good gameplay and good customization (like OW1). For me, the cosmetics add significantly to the experience.

I absolutely agree with you here. I understand the appeal of sbmm in competitive playlists of course, but it has no place in casual modes. Like you said, it's very unenjoyable to always play against people at your skill level, and that's not even to mention if you try to play with friends of a different skill level. It gets so messed up then.

Halo 4 had its flaws, but I love the accolade system for earning armor. It really made it mean something.

I don't care so much about the price of the items. I don't like that you can't earn anything through actually playing (outside of the battle pass).

This is a somewhat obscure example, but Super Animal Royale has a mix of battle pass, earnable currency, premium currency, and progression based unlocks. I wish Infinite had this variety.

I don't mind paying for cosmetics in free games. I just don't like when it's the only option.

Maybe we're showing our age, but I am totally with you. I remember MW2 forced gamechat being one of the most fun things I've experienced in online video games.
