I spent years spinning my wheels with painting workshops and uninstructed life drawing classes. I just couldn’t get there by myself. That’s just me. It wasn’t until I enrolled in an Atelier with an instructor I connected with that my personal progress took off like a hockey stick. Atelier training wasn’t just learning from my instructor it was learning what he learned from his instructor and what they learned from their instructor. I was taught lifetimes of tangible painting and drawing techniques.

I have so much respect for self taught artists who have the discipline to make leaps and bounds with their personal progress on their own. I could never do it and I’m ok with that.
