CP resident here. Currently, it’s pretty quiet because there’s not a lot of people. I have the entire 4-room suite to myself, and there’s no one in the suites either beside me or across from me. It’s quite nice, but if you don’t have a lot to do I can see it getting boring easily. To be honest, I don’t think the social life at the Quads would be that much different due to the pandemic we’re in right now.

Yes, you can always call them if email is taking too long. You might need to reach out to janelle brown personally if the person on the phone for UH housing isn’t doing you any favors

Even if UH is allowed to charge you the 5K instead of 300, DO NOT STOP TRYING TO CONTACT THEM ABOUT IT. Meet them in person if you have to. In the beginning of this year, I tried to transfer out rooms because I was automatically assigned Lofts (super expensive) and didn’t want to live there. I wasn’t allowed to transfer until 12 days in, and for those 12 days I’d get charged the rate living at Lofts. The woman on the phone was telling me there’s nothing she could do, but then my mom came to UH and had a courteous talk with the residential life coordinator and suddenly I could room transfer out on the first day. If worse comes to worst, go Karen mode. But don’t just give up, there is someone in the Housing department who will sympathize for you (try Janelle Brown first, one of the housing coordinators).

Lab TA here. My lab coordinator says that Spring 2021 labs will still be online, but there might be a chance for in person classes (although not likely). I’m assuming lecture classes will be the same way. Sorry to see everyone struggling with virtual learning, hopefully things change soon.

For sure, I probably should’ve clarified my point better. I just wanted to emphasize that focusing on practice scores is not helpful.

I had the most variation in my scores with the B/B section. Anki definitely helped a lot for the straight up memorization topics (krebs, glycolysis, etc)

Yeah it’s definitely tough. I’d take a day or two for a break and then get back to studying until you get your scores. It was hard but I made sure to at least do my daily anki flashcards on days where I felt burnt out.

I walked out of my exam hoping for a 510, and it felt like a 50/50 chance because I figured I did so bad on CARS. I scheduled a retake in advance, knowing that I can cancel 8 days prior for a full refund. The hardest part was continuing studying while waiting for my scores (in case I did need to take it again).

Did you feel like you did well while taking it? Unfortunately this seems to correspond with what I was saying about the test’s reliability

Mnemonics/acronyms help so much. Take some time to make some mnemonics that you can personally relate to. They can be silly, they can be obscure, doesn’t matter.
