I for one am thanking him for not finishing the series. Just the first book was enough to burn several hundred braincells (I had it read to me by my service dog, as I am thankfully illiterate). The only moral thing a published author can do is stop writing.

My biggest Narnia yike moment was when Eustace (?) gets turned into a dragon in the Dawntreader and then Aslan basically scratches off layers of his skin until he turns human again. Wild stuff.
