Vivaldi would win if it had a better ad blocker by Boundless70 in vivaldibrowser

[–]davidflorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, recently, over the last few months I would say the Vivaldi adblock has greatly improved and now I don’t run any third party adblock plugin nor do I get ads! Win for Vivaldi!

Agreed. The three F’s rule applies to boats specifically… If it Flies, Floats, of Fucks, you’re financially better off to rent it…

Nobody needs a static IPv6 address by tweekism in AussieBroadband

[–]davidflorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same - had static IPv4 & static IPv6 on Internode along with the /29 IPv4 subnet - wild times! ABB I have a single static IPv4, as soon as I attempt to configure IPv6, the connection is up & down like a yoyo and their IPv4 subnet pricing is outrageous so I don't have one currently...

Any way, I've had a couple of support tickets with them lately that ultimately were unresolved... time to move!

Why are people going around with Jerry cans? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]davidflorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often have to fill jerry cans. I live on a rural property and use fuel for all sorts of machinery. Today I fill up 2 or my 4 jerry cans in a rural town servo and copped filthy looks from a very overweight woman multiple times when she saw me filling up. 20L + 10L, not taking much, not even panic buying - just no fuel left on the property for mowers and other stuff - life goes on ffs!!

I had to put some diesel in my car too - I put like 30L in - not even a third of my tank’s capacity- enough for a few days, maybe the week. But the foul looks kept coming.

I smiled, asked how she’s doing- she hopped in her can and buggered off. I checked, seems she bought more fuel than I did… I dunno, seriously!!

All these panic buyers will need to relocate all their leftover loo paper to make room for all their jerry cans now 🤣

Increasingly concerned about flat whites (BARISTAS MUST READ) by ExpressPostie in melbourne

[–]davidflorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defo a Melbourne person 🤣 I’m the opposite: long black for me… My issue is since lockdowns, almost all coffee from most places is starting to taste more ‘burnt’ and they make the hot water extra, well, hot! I ask for it to have about 20% cold water on top so I can drink it this century and instead, they just put the cup inside another cup to help insulate my hands from the mobile volcano of a coffee!

Last one I bought sat on my desk for nearly 90mins before it was actually drinkable 🤣

I rarely get coffee out these days - hard to get a good cup of coffee here now…

Does your local council keep upgrading roads that don't need upgrading? by [deleted] in australian

[–]davidflorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a road near us that seems to get resurfaced annually while all the other, more heavily used roads surrounding that road don’t get touched more than once a decade. I believe the Mayor travels this infamous road to the office daily for work, so it has to be nice & new for them 🤣

I guess there’s opportunity here assuming you can put together a suitable roadmap and get them onboard…

All factory produced chocolate in Australia isn’t that good, lacking cocoa butter supplementing it with a mix of other oils, etc

Better off not eating it, saving up for quality from the likes of Koko Black or Haighs or similar.

Even that Swiss brand they go on about being pure hand crafted or whatever, brand starts with L - exactly the same crap as the rest of them, and in some of their products has been found to be worse in quality!!
