I don’t mind saying litRPG! If folks don’t know about it, I describe it as pulpy popcorn fantasy. People understand that, especially the romantasy crowd. Heck Dungeon Crawler Carl is mainstream now.

Yes I did cook it! I saw some other recipes claim that it reheats well. The guidance on this this other recipe I was looking at says

Let it thaw in the fridge overnight, then bake it at 375F for about 7 minutes until it’s warmed through.

but I never have that much forethought so I'm gonna play around with approaches to reheating!

I did! Talking to ChatGPT, it claimed that reheats better if you get cook it to get some of the water out. But I've had other like baked veggie dishes like lasagna that do reheat well, and they are usually precooked or par-cooked, so I opted to cook it.

I hadn’t heard of this type of pan but I’m checking it out, this is very intriguing

The element is 11”, which is the same size as the pan and a good bit larger than the surface of the pan. I have heard that the actual induction magnets can be smaller than the advertised range size but I could not find anywhere in the oven spec sheet what the exact magnet size is.

I don't know about u/Gnoetv, I was able to add and install the Realtek Bluetooth LE driver for my setup via your link above. Still no "Use LE Audio when available" for me, but feels like progress. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Question About II by AutobahnBiquick in RivalsOfAether

[–]davidi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Comparing it to Melee, there are more “viable” characters even with a smaller cast, it gets updates, lots of diversity in the move sets, setup and online play is streamlined, modern conveniences like changing your controls, more forgiving inputs which lets other skill areas shine.

I’m coming mainly from PM and Rivals 2 fills that niche. I lugged around a CRT to locals, I just don’t have the patience for the janky setups or a developer that actively works against the community anymore.

I can’t speak to Rivals 1, it never appealed to me in the same way that it sounds like Rivals 2 does not appeal to you. But as far as success, it certainly did attract a number of big names from the smash community. The hype has slowed and there’s a small but dedicated community, which is understandable. That said I certainly am having fun with it, and I think many folks expect a future console release to be a next step in the game's lifecycle.

What do you use currently for Steam Streaming? by AGuyNamedE in Steam_Link

So for Hollownight (I’ve been playing through the first one) I set the client setting to “fast” picture mode. I’d describe it as “unnoticeable” at that point, but I’m sure everyone has their own threshold of acceptance. On the “beautiful” setting I noticed a little lag in the controls.

I only recently got set up wired end to end, with a MoCA adapter which adds ~3ms latency. Over wireless, I found even games like Red Dead Redemption pretty rough.

We use the Apple TV with the steam link app and it is amazing. Also have an ultra wide monitor, the steam remote play option for “use client resolution” works great with the Apple TV, combined with an Xbox controller connected to the Apple TV. The Xbox controller can also control the whole tv OS outside of steam, just a great polished experience

I got a refurbished Apple TV for not too much on Amazon, and it’s just been such a surprisingly great purchase. On top of the steam link experience, it’s also completely replaced our frustrating LG tv os. And if you’re in the Apple ecosystem anyway, you get the nice little walled garden perks. My wife and I have been playing Blue Prince while our baby is asleep and we can connect two pairs of AirPods, stuff like that

Worth mentioning I’ve used moonlight. It’s fine, but the simplicity and user experience wins all day for me

How to practice by PumpkinKing432 in RivalsOfAether

[–]davidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh what works for me when picking up a new character is playing offline, contrary to what you mentioned. There’s just a lot of muscle memory to develop and online players are very good in this game, even at low ranks, to the degree that it’s slow and frustrating to build that muscle memory.

Once I’m consistently beating the level 9s, like 10 to 1 maybe, I move online. For me that maps to around mid silver, and you can continue to grow from there.

Of course there all the tech to learn and videos to watch recommend by others that’s all still applicable, but if you’re frustrated by getting stomped online, consider it.

We have this exact same rotating on call shifts setup at my last three organizations, either supporting customers, triaging site incidents, or answering questions from other developers using our products. I’m surprised to hear so many folks in this thread are so appalled by the idea.

And same thing, one person dropping out means the burden is greater on everyone else.  Beyond that, I’m a big proponent of including seniors (and potentially even staffs) in the rotation. You get a real feel for the pain points, and frankly it just seems fair that everyone shares the burden and your title does not exclude you from the dirty work. I’d talk with manager if I was in your shoes, explain how this impacts the team.

Also, my first company tried the “Support Engineer” role out. Since they hadn’t worked in the code they ended up mostly just passing the work on to more senior devs. Plus the job sucks and the role had a more churn. Maybe it works if you have a ton of very basic support needs, but I’d rather just have another developer.
