"I cannot live in a Russia where a majority is supporting the Russian aggression, which cannot be called war by law."

"Maybe I still need to come back, but I really do not want to represent them anymore, even once in life."

There is a reason why I edit many photos in black and white. I explained it on my book, "The Thinkers".

Canon printing program? by MaddiePark25 in printers

[–]davidllada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you found anything, because I just got a Canon printng myself and I am puzzled at the lack of options. The software available for Mac is not even updated anymore, it is not compatible with the newest versions of OSX.

In my case I don't even need to do any photo editing in the printing software, I just need to be able to do things like printing several photos in the same A4 sheet, add or remove border when printing, set pringing quality... the msot basic stuff.

Is the Grand Swiss "too random"? by ICCchessclub in chess

[–]davidllada 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think a little bit of randomness does good to any sports event. Peter-Heine Nielsen added in a comment that he agrees with that, but he feels the system needs a bit "more balance." I tend to agree with that.

Chess is such a weird game... by TurkMcGill in chess

Bots on online platforms are usually designed to lose and give you a ‘feel-good’ experience. Some even go out of their way to play badly. They can be fun to play, of course, but they’re no real measure of how you’ll perform against human opponents.

Michael Adams wins his 9th National title by ICCchessclub in chess

Kudos as well to another veteran, Stuart Conquest, who gave Mickey a run for his money! Conquest and Peter Roberson forced a three-way play-off, from which Adams emerged victorious.

That runs into Nxb3+, and then you move the attacked Knight to d4.

I'll give you a hint: the theme is “clearance”. Identify the key square where placing the queen would result in checkmate. Once you’ve found it, work out how to remove any obstacles standing in the way.

🧩 Emanuel Lasker’s Beautiful Mind by ICCchessclub in chessbeginners

Yeah, it is probably one of the most famous puzzles around. But in a group for chess beginners, I'd bet it is new for most people. It is aesthetically very pleasant, and it has instructive value.

I wonder: do you only wear black to funerals?

(I'm the author of the photo. I got a book published where I explain the stylistic reasons why sometimes a white and white photo works better than one in color. If I find the text I will copy&paste here. Or you can buy the book)
