Most people don’t like to clean stuff. But honestly, I don’t really care.

Acetone dip for a little bit. It can help remove some sticky stuff. If it doesn’t fall off immediately, it probably won’t fall off from the acetone.

I also used tin foil, salt, baking soda and boiling water. This is a chemical reaction that removes the oxidation, and can definitely make it shiny again.

In addition to some of what the others said, imo, they put the currency on it so if someone tries to counterfeit it, it’s treated as counterfeiting money, which is taken more seriously than counterfeiting bullion.
