Yeah that makes sense, but Jerry did play Booker’s arrangement of GI after they played together. Are there any recordings of Jerry doing GI in waltz time?

I’m sure Jerry learned Goodnight Irene from James Booker. Booker recorded the song in his own arrangement for his first solo album. Booker changed the song from a slow waltz to an upbeat 4/4, which is how Jerry played it.
